Olivera Taza vs Lachlan Giles - two of BJJ's best - had this frenetic battle that was scheduled for 15mins and took place at POLARIS 7, July 14, 2018.
Taza is a John Danaher BJJ black belt who has competed at the highest levels while winning over 100 matches. Giles is a medalist in both the ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship and World No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships.

It's interesting the commentators didn't know what the false reap was back then. Lachlan really was a pioneer of the leg locks along with Danaher. It's also funny that Nicky Ryan is in Taza's corner but now is closer related to Lachlan via Craig. How things change so fast.

Great match. Didn’t know the false reap was popular in 2018. And also surprised taza was able to hang in there with Lachlan he way he was tbh.

Lachlan really hunting the false reap in this match. Great performance by both men. I certainly would have called this a draw though.

Yeah I see no way to give anyone a win here. a complete wash where they essentially just nullified each other

I also think it was a draw. Altough Taza pushed the pace, Lachlan was never in real danger and was able to put Taza in danger with the back attack. Overall both of them countered the moves of the other effectively.

'Unorthodox' almost. Shows how quickly the sport develops that the false reap is now pretty standard.
