ME TOO!! I live in Japan and I play on a local soccer team and we play on gravel....were I live there aren't any parks around me so I have to run for about 2 miles to get to the nearest grass park and round 5 to get to the nearest turf park. I also wish I has that acess.

These are the stories that make me want to strive harder and quit at the same time as I’m 13 she’s 15 now, but it’s harder for athletes that have the potential to go big when they don’t have the access to fields and coaches or even teams that want to go big. That’s why sports aren’t fair , cause as long as your parents are making bank and can get you all the resources and more then your more than destined to get a d1 spot in sports. But if you don’t have to money you have to work hard to even be seen

this is exactly how I feel. Your 100% correct about how money is the headstart to anything, if you don't have money then you have to work harder and feel like your not doing enough and get frustrated.

I think it’s amazing that it happened to her so young, but unfortunately because that happened so early then she went pro it changed for the rest of the future soccer players. now they can’t be recruited till start of their junior year.

I didn’t think you could sign for a scholarship until your junior year

Katelyn Smith you cant. It’s a non-binding verbal commitment. Both parties can back out.

Can I just say after taking the premier license with 40 college coaches and see them all raise there hand for the wrong answer to basic quesions. Not trolling here, so excited that you have made to NIKE and skipping the pain of being coach by silly coaches that will teach you nothing

Amazing skill set. Disappointed that she chose to sign with Nike, walk away from attending UNC's storied soccer program, she'll live to regret it, but in all fairness she's ONLY 13 years old lets she where she's at in 4-5 years.....
@sbellaharris5 жыл бұрын
You don't know what you're talking about, she isn't just signed with Nike, she's with the Portland Thorns training with some of the world's best. A storied anything means nothing, professional training development is what she needs to become the best.

@@sbellaharris I've seen this a hundred times. Not letting a kid grow up with friends and sleep overs etc..is detrimental to her over all development. I hope Im wrong this time. She seems like a sweet kid.

@@brianwolf1336 Because training with professional club is different than training with other local clubs and regular teenager life is changed all of a sudden? I've seen this argument too many times and it makes no sense at all, if her teenage life did change because of development to be a pro player it already happened even with local clubs, there's no difference between the two, except she's training with the best players in the world with the Thorns. Also this argument seems to imply that there's no teenagers in Portland, it's simply nonsense. Let me remind you that she's training with the Thorns senior team AND their academy team with players around her age.

It’s been almost three years….she’s playing pro now for the Thorns! Next stop USWNT.
