Citing email exchanges, the affidavit alleged that Striegel told the teenager he wanted to pursue a sexual relationship with her and asked her to keep it a secret. The girl was also a relative of the offender. Maybe do a quick Google search before zealously defending an abuser...

What I've learned in 2018 is that I could go on the internet and say someone abused me and have their whole life ruined, I would automatically be a victim and my target would get ripped to shreds without any chance of explanation or defense. Also if someone tells you "you're in this movie only if you let me fuck you/masturbate in front of you" and you do it, you have absolutely ZERO right to give the person shit about it. Its a shame that people are more comfortable with starting a witch hunt on a person than just simply saying fuck off in an inappropriate situation..

I have yet to hear from her how she discovered it anyway, did she do a home background check on all her co-stars and extras? There is no law in California that restricts the employment of a sex offender, nor any law that forces an employer to disclose the employment of a sex offender. So there was nothing illegal or wrong with the director hiring the guy even while knowing his past, nor was he required to inform anyone, and there was no reason to delete his scenes. The guy is allowed to work and earn a living regardless of what anyone thinks about the charges. He was charged and convicted of being a risk to a minor and solicitation via computer. In every interview, Olivia keeps comparing this to Hollywood's problems and the metoo movement, except those problems are with men who were never caught because none of the victims ever went to the police. This guy was arrested, charged, convicted, and served his sentence because the victim's parents did what they were supposed to do...call the police and provide them evidence. Something the women of the metoo movement should learn to do.

The hardest part about trying to better yourself after you’ve already been punished for a crime you did almost a decade ago, would have to be the fact that no matter how much you change and better yourself, people have to constantly remind you that you screwed up because they only want to see the monster they think you are. There are people who have stolen and killed but they don’t have to go door to door saying “hey I’m your new neighbor and I was arrested for robbing and killing someone.” No, it’s on their record already, but if you are out and served your time, you should still have the opportunity to aim towards leading a better life and forgiving yourself/being forgiven. I don’t think what Olivia did was necessarily wrong, but she didn’t have to get the guy cut out because of his past.

I can't fucking believe all the comments saying that he did his time (only 6 fucking months BTW) so he should just be left alone now and allowed to move on with his life. The hipocrisy in Hollywood never ceases. I won't go to this film because I'll only be thinking about this issue. Whether it's politics, religion or sexual offenses you break the 4th wall and I'm not paying all that money to see a film that brings headlines to mind. She should have been told, there should be no child in the offender's vicinity and the timing of this news will affect the box office sales.

Everybody is treating this woman as if she was the abused one. She handled it horribly. And now after the scene was cut and apologies made, she's still not letting it go, and is dragging all the cast into the controversy right now in the release days. She turned a mistake (that was corrected) into a huge mess that will probably hurt everybody in the film.
