Olivia-Newton John.....a name, a person, a star, that has been in my life, on my mind and I've probably said her name everyday day since Grease was released and I was so very fortunate enough that my parents took me with them to see it. I was only seven years old at the time, but Olivia stole my heart and has had it ever since. That same year, my mom got the Grease album as a Christmas gift. Well, it was her gift, but I took it over, lol. And I still have it today. Olivia has always been the most beautiful woman in the world in my eyes. I have had the pleasure of seeing her in concert twice. The first time, before she even came out on stage, I thought I was literally going to have a heart attack, no pun intended, lol. I couldn't believe after all these years, I was actually in the same building as her and I was about to see her in person! I managed to get ahold of myself and next thing I know, here she is, walking out on stage. Thanks for listening to this now middle aged man's story of falling hopelessly for Olivia as a child and never letting go. ❤

To those of us who had a crush on Olivia since we were just little kids, her departure, just six days ago (Aug 8, 2022), has been particularly painful. We fall in love with her at an age when this feeling is so innocent and pure. I was 10 years old when I saw her for the first time in Grease. She was so beautiful inside and out. Her sweet voice and sunny smile caressed our young souls and, without us realizing it, she had already become part of our lives. These feelings of love and fascination for her remained intact throughout the years as we saw her beauty mature and her care for others grow. It always amazed me that one person may posses so many beautiful qualities. She was truly like an angel. We then knew about her cancer, and I thought that when the 'moment' came it would be very sad... Yet, somehow, it seems we took it for granted that she would be always here, among us, because nothing could have prepared us for this feeling of emptiness, this huge void, that her death has left in us. It's truly like part of our lives has been suddenly taken away. Now, at 51 years old, I've been crying during all these days like I was again a 10-year-old little kid... Our sweet angel Olivia... 😢. I will miss her till my last breath.💔

A Krenwinkle you’re wrong ! If you know the song , which you don’t , how it was sung on record, you’d realise that her tone of voice was completely different, also she added words to the song while singing live on stage that are not on record!!

@@redwandennaoui4508 I've known the song since I heard it sung in the movie when it came out; that's how old I am. The soundtrack version is right here on youtube, the one ON-J is lip synching to. A giveaway clue about these "live" performances is when things are perfectly identical to the original, including the full orchestra with lots of strings, complete with back-up singers.

There is effect. Vocals without effects to compensate for the room acoustics and to ensure what you hear actually sounds like the singer are crucial. Every singer has effects, but not to doctor their voices, it's for accurate representation. It always amazes me that people actually think a sound engineer can perform such miracles as to make someone that can't sing sound like a pro... Only so much can be done! That's why you still hear some singers suck, or else you'd never know. She's an excellent singer!
