She was an advocate for saving dolphins being caught in tuna fishing nets. She loved animals. Beautiful smile, face and voice and soul. The world lost a good one....sigh. peace.

I cant lie, I cried hearing of her passing. I grew up listening to all her music as a kid. She always had that angelic innocent and real persona. Felt like I lost a childhood friend, had a weird effect on me. Made me realize how fast time has gone by as well. Rest eternally Olivia, thank you for all those great memories with your music. 🙏🙏

As a 55 yr old, Olivia’s death really hit me hard. Losing a lot of the iconic performers of the 70s, 80s, and 90s in the past few years is really making me feel my mortality. She truly was a bright light and such a lovely lady. RIP ONJ ❤️❤️🙏🏻

In the 1980s, I was a waitress at a banquet honouring Olivia. She left early and everybody stood as she walked out. She smiled at me directly, and in that instant I felt touched and connected to a truly unique and admirable star. Her presence on camera and in a room was luminous. Today, I feel genuine sadness at her death and deepest sympathy for her family and dear friends.

She fought her cancer most admirably, and established her foundation to help others. May the Lord comfort her family and the rest of us!

Even when frail from cancer a few months before her passing, she kept saying how fortunate she was; she was such a positive person which made her always radiate a positive energy. Like many who commented, I too am in my fifties and spent my whole life listening to her music and angelic voice, which is why I feel I lost a friend. RIP, sweet Olivia, you'll certainly be missed.

I can still remember going to the movie theater at the age of nine, to see the movie Grease. I fell in love with Olivia's voice and her music. Every time I hear a song of hers on the radio, I turn the volume up and lose myself. Her voice was so soothing and natural. You'll be dearly missed Olivia....rest in peace sweet lady!

My mom introduced me to Grease at just 6 years old and bought me the sing along DVD at 10 years old, as well as all of the Sandy Barbie dolls that are still in the original boxes, which I still have and cherish just as the day I got them. My mom passed away this last May, so this grief for me is real. Rest easy Olivia, you will be missed very much. We'll Always Be Together. ♥

RIP Olivia - I've just returned back to the UK after 10 years in prison. I did two and a half years solitary confinement in that time. Whilst I was in solitary, I "replayed" the video segment of Xanadu (with the tightrope and skaters) in my mind to cheer me up. Thanks for that Olivia x

Just so sad to hear this news. Olivia's was the first record I ever had and I played it non-stop til my father got sick of it and stormed in and broke the record over his knee. I got another one though and all of them after that and have always been a big fan. She was so pure and lovely and kind and a champion for humanitarian causes and cancer awareness. I'm glad she doesn't have to suffer anymore as cancer stalked her relentlessly, but through it all she stayed strong and upbeat and beautiful. She will be so very missed. Hard to think of your light and presence not being in the world, but it will live on in all those you reached and touched, and through your legacy and foundation. Much respect for all the awareness she raised for alternative, natural healing and medicine also, which I'm sure has broken new ground. I was one of those girls whom in 1978 showed up at the movie theaters wearing leather black pants. I got the Grease album before I even Watched the movie and already knew the “tell me more, tell me more” song (summer nights) in its entirely. It feels all so unreal. When you are 13 going to 23, 10 years feel like a lifetime, but when you’re in your fifties, 44 feels like it was yesterday. I am still in disbelief over Olivia leaving us. I absolutely adored her! RIP Dame!

I absolutely cherished her,almost my whole life! From age 7 to 57,she has been such a huge part of my life. I so admired her,such a beautiful voice!!Oh thru tears,how sad! Sudden,no warning!
