Olivia Rodrigo is a Disney+ star and the lead in High School Musical: The Series and is only 17. This is her debut single and she has written the song herself from her personal experience. She's a huge Taylor Swift fan and also a Lorde fan I think and you can see the influences in the songwriting and melody. I'm so excited to see what she releases in the future.

@@maciedixon3983 I guess what I'm trying to get at is what makes her different than Tswift, Lorde, Alessia, Grande Or Billie?? Miley Cyrus, Gomez, Hillary Duff, or Demi? I hate to be cynical but as ya get older it all sounds the same especially at the start of their career with limited say on the record. Sell love in a pop package to a new generation, till they get old enough to sell their skin instead of their music. Positions = sex. Wrecking Ball = sex. At least these songs are unique, and have lyrics that are creative. Not "I got my licenses for us but now it's just me, sadness" :/

@@jamesasui No you're wrong. The writers are her and her producer. You can check the song credits. Usually artists share their songwriting credit with their producers.

Seen her name floating about, but didn't check her out. Thanks for shining a light on this one. She's definitely a talented young artist and one to watch. Her vocals give you chills here!! Can you react to French the Kid's Daily Duppy. Its only been out a month and already got over 3.5million views and to quickly become one of the best Daily Duppy's released last year, up there with Fredo and Chip. Kid is definitely gonna be the next breakthrough rapper from the UK if he keeps releasing bangers. Got flow, bars and content!

Olivia Rodrigo is 17 years old and in a show on Disney+ that’s called High School Musical the Musical the Series. This song is rumored to be about her co-star, Joshua Barrett, who she was rumored to be dating a while back but they ended things due to her age gap. He told her he would wait for her to turn 18 so they could legally date, but he didn’t. He is now rumored to be dating Sabrina Carpenter (the blonde girl, that is about 3 years older than Olivia which she refers to in the song) Joshua had also wrote a song about her which is why she says “guess you didn’t mean what you wrote in that song about me”. He also taught her how to drive a few times.
