I get what you're saying but if you listen to some of the songs that she wrote for the High School musical series and some of her earlier works of music is actually is more her style, but it's definitely not her style compared to the album she just released

I like safe and sound more than this song, but I agree that both are good. The genre is kinda folksy to me with the guitar and breathy vocals

Her live singing sounds the same as the actual song! 😮 Not many singers can do that, it is amazingg, she's so talented and her natural voice is so good, it doesn't even need anything added to it. I love Olivia and I really want to see her in concert but they're sold out 😭💔

Something people don’t realize is how much emotion she conveys, I see people criticizing mistakes when in reality it’s because of the emotion. Id rather watch a performance that makes me feel with a couple mistakes than a flat performance that’s perfect

Great reaction! Olivia is getting more confident live and she's soaking the audience adoring her. Vampire on the same concert is even better as one can feel the crowd going overwhelmingly CRAZY from the first cord! This is not even her concert, she stole it, I can't imagine the histeria on her tour coming soon, out of this world...

not that you're asking, but imo, the tiny desk vampire live was one of her best performances of that song, it's just so raw and i love everything about it. the iheartradio one is cool too, she changes stuff up every time she performs vampire and i love it.

Love the vocal analysis! But there is a point I feel like it needs to be mentioned: she was creating a vibe/story with the performance as well! It was giving "echo between the trees up in the mountain" vibe, from the longing-ness to the echo headshake at the end. It was giving impactful and abrupt, like her high note. All of this ties really well to the movie, and the story within the song!

This song and her performances are terrific, and I have also played this song more than any other song on GUTS except for maybe Lacy. While this song is great, the real musical gem of Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is Rachel Zegler's performance. You NEED to see her singing in the film if you haven't! loved this--and i guess it was much louder live compared to the tv version with the audio connected but i do wish they gave more volume to the bg singers lol what i loved sm much abt this song is the progression of the last part, but her very last note in this performance did make up for it so all in all it’s all good 😅💓
