the concept of the whole album is to talk about sour feelings, things that no one likes to talk about… happier is something that we all have already felt but no one wants to talk about because it just feels wrong

I get what you mean about not trying to like something because everyone else likes it. I literally didn’t listen to driver’s license till months after the hype for that reason and then when I listened to it I was like I see why everyone’s hyping this up. Olivia got permission by Taylor to play the notes of New Years Day to sample on 1 Step Foward , 3 Steps Back so Taylor's old producer Scooter wont get any credit or money, this album is so good filled with so much meaning , and hope ur ok always makes me tear the meaning and the sound at the end like the beginning of her first song, the end of a sour era, happy and sad at the same time:(

She's influenced by a little bit of everything. Her songwriting is mainly influenced by Taylor Swift and Carole King but she's also a massive fan of rock giants of various decades from Pat Benatar to the White Stripes and Black Sabbath

She’s made an absolutely stunning record, regardless of what the internet says about the tunes sounded like others, and her having to credit artists because chord structure is similar. The sound at the end actually sounded like a lower pitched version of what’s in the beginning of driver’s. In my opinion. Which would make sense since in drivers license she’s getting in the car. And that sound at the end is like when you turn the car off and you have the door open and the key in the ignition still. And it makes sense that that is where getting in the car starts and getting out ends because brutal (the first track) was actually the last one added.

she wrote happier and enough for you on her own, i think if we compare those with all i want/the rose song (other songs that she wrote entirely by herself) we can see that she’s REALLY good with this kind of slow piano ballad with great lyrics she’s a great songwriter

answering some questions for the punk/rock influence- her parents are rock fans and she grew up with this kind of music songwriting- she writes most of her songs with help from her produces and stuff ofc, taylor swift helped write one step forward and three steps back lyrics- one of her parents is a therapist and she can explain her feelings really well yes she can play guitar and piano

Never heard of her before. I get the sense she's a big star for today's generations. Some songs remind me of Billy Eilish. The 1st song also reminded me when Punk Rock became a big deal in the 70's and I can see how her music would go over well today. Not what I gravitate to, but I can always appreciate good talent. And she no cookie cutter singer from what I've heard.

When she says “I bet you even tell her how you love her in between the chorus and the verse” she actually says “I love you” before she sings the verse. It’s really quiet tho so turn it up but I just thought I’d point that out idk if I’m the only one that noticed but that little detail is pretty cool shows how much she puts into her music
