2023 is the 40th anniversary of Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic, so we’re highlighting past wishes that brought smiles to our faces.
In 2018, then-14-year-old Olivia’s wish to go on safari in South Africa was granted. Of the many animals she saw on the savanna each day, Olivia was most excited to see the elephants - they have been a constant source of joy throughout her medical journey for a heart transplant. She loved spending time at the elephant sanctuary, where she was able to get up close and personal with her favorite animal! Now 5 years later, Olivia is thriving as a college freshman and describes her wish trip as “a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity; I’m incredibly grateful for this wish.” #WishMidAtlantic40
