My goodness the longing in that first embrace was palpable. The kiss on the cheek, the whisper in the ear, and her running her hand down the side of his jacket. Then we get to her delivering the line, "you lied" in truly iconic fashion. What an interview!

I recently found out that she had cancer.I cried when I saw her article.I'm so glad she's recovered and healthy now. I was grateful to be able to see good acting in the future. ~!!!!♡

"Are we talking flight paths? Is this where we've come to, after all these years?" And at that, my heart broke a little. 💔

My goodness, there is so much true love (and pain) in her. She is gorgeously real. And it somewhat, very realistically, reminds me of what many of us experience: no matter who we are with and love right now, there is this one person in our life who touched us the deepest, who simply is the one (we just really screwed it up... being too young, too scared or whatever). You are really blessed, if that's the one you are with right now.

This remains the best night time talk show EVER! Never saw another once he went off the air. Thank you so much JLF for posting all of these fantastic "lost" episodes! I always tried to watch him at night yet there are so many, like all of these, that I never saw. I must say that I have never seen Craig so uneasy on his show. Even the awkward pause was of no use because it was awkward from the get go....for every visit. Obviously some serious heart strings were pulled from both parties. She is so beautiful! Craig always knew this.

Olivia Williams is fantastic she was great in Centennial Man and Sixth Sense. But that first interview was awkward as hell 😳 like seriously when she said I might not have gotten married if I knew you were still available was the ultimate awkward pause 😂❤ And the crowd was like.....aw $#@%

Can't remember what age I had at the time, but Olivia Williams just melted my heart in Rushmore. That scene when Herman (Murray) shows up at her house improptu. The awkwardness and affection in that moment stays with me to this day. Kudos to Anderson, Williams and Murray for creating that on film.

What a lovely woman. They seem to have dealt with their heartbreak, but there is still great affection there.

Holy Shit! He just told everyone she dumped him and did so while smiling! It almost seems like they were each others' first lovers. He is an inspiration. I'm sure if I had a talk show and my ex came on, she would put an ice pick through my heart (this time literally).

This is a great interview. That first awkward pause was really intense, the tension was palpable. And the fact that they brought up the "who broke up with who" in the very last minute of the last interview, wow, we can fell they had a lot of history

Here in 2020. What a great example of being perfect humans to one another even with a painful past.

Craig was not the typical Craig we normally see. He struggled (as did she) quite a bit in all three interviews. There still seems to be an unanswered connection between the two. I wonder how she ended up on his show.

The vibe feels more like Craig was at a pub with a few friends and ran into Olivia, and they started catching up. But they had to occasionally lean their conversation toward the group to be polite, but they’d much rather have a different conversation amongst themselves.

Seeing their exchange is reflective. I think a fair number of us out there have had someone in our lives we loved deeply but for whatever reason had to separate and then life separates it even further. Then you're just left wondering at each other WTF? you know you both still love each other but now life. It's one of those heavy human experiences.

Brilliant interviews! I've been in love with Olivia Williams since she played Rosemary Cross in Rushmore (1998). Craig is suave, as usual.

They're just so cute together. That must have been one heck of a relationship. :)

Real love takes many forms. There are always faults and failures but some love moves on without ever dying.

Craig is truly the only celebrity that I'd like to meet. Funny as hell, a patriot and just seems like a genuine guy.

I must imagine venting with your ex in front of an audience must be awkward but therapeutic in some twisted way.

First visit - She is still seething Second visit - the love in her eyes is so unmistakable - Third Visit - She has healed and they can safely reminisce - She is wonderful

You can tell the whole story from those three interviews. They were very serious, she gave him the ultimatum, he balked saying he would never marry again. She dumped him to get married and have kids. He sowed his oats with American women for a while then he did the LA thing getting married to a much younger woman. She is a tad resentful and basically admits she settled. He has nostalgia pangs for the passion and fun they experienced before his current marriage and children portion of his life. Both sides hurt, both sides still harboring feelings and the most difficult time I have ever seen him trying to make small talk in an interview due to all the unresolved feelings. Its quite a bit different from the Mary Louise Parker interviews where you can see that they weren't as serious. That her first interview she still wants Craig but in later interviews after her marriage she has no regrets and has completely lost any feelings for him. Fascinating interactions because I am sure that most interviewers would not be comfortable having an ex on their show. I know I sure as hell wouldn't do it.

Craig was so out of his game. Never seen him like this. Wonder what happened between them.

Those two clearly have a lot of affections for each other. It is kind of both warm and a bit heartbreaking to see that.

She has a wonderful personality and is so naturally beautiful and expressive.

She has Craig on the ropes from the time she walks on the stage - great stuff!

So using a timeline what I can gather is that this was towards the end of Craig's second marriage. My guess is that they started to like each other when they did the movie in 2000 and when he divorced in 2004, they dated for a bit but Olivia wanted a commitment but Craig, having just gotten divorced, bristled and they separated. That's my best guess
