My 7th grade Advanced students LOVED my elementary decor❤️ They appreciate the decorations more than we know - they're still kids too. Taught 3rd grade Math for 5 years. 7th grade Math for 2 years now a 4th grade Math teacher (year 3) ‼️

Center the bulletin board paper, and use thicker border or double up the border to make it look like it fits the space.

Yes! I was going to say the same! Scoot it down and maybe do a double boarder. I’ve also switched to cloth boarders and really love it, they will last years! I did a burlap fabric on some and it’s neutral but also adds some texture… maybe for that thin space you showed, just an idea if it goes with your theme!

You should use bed sheets for the bulletin board! They’re so much easier to put on, and they look so much better throughout the year! They won’t crinkle up and add a more pleasing texture to the classroom!

if you are going to put a boarder around the boards you can kind of center the paper so there is room at the top and bottom that will be covered by the boarder. that way you want have to put an extra strip of paper.

I covered my chalk board with white board contact paper! Def need a lot but it makes it much brighter & usable!

I've tried the contact paper before and had terrible luck. It was SO wrinkly lol

Center the paper, so there is equal space on top and bottom and double/layer the border.

I bought the white dry erase paper rolls that are sticky on the back and covered my blackboard that way. Much better looking and for daily use.

You should have centered the large bulletin board backing and then done a double border. Also get the heavy duty Better Than Paper bulletin board paper its more like a vinyl so its a much better quality and goes on the wall much smoother. It will last for years, worth spending the extra money on it. I've used mine for years and haven't had to change it out yet. Also with all your bulletin board space, save room for your anchor charts its a great resource for your students.

Hi! Third year sped teacher here!! If you we’re putting border anyway you could have moved the original piece down more instead of leaving that big gap and then the boarder would’ve covered the edges. If it didn’t, you could always double border.

You could also use flat sheets or buy fabric cloth for your board.

Get wet erase chalk markers for your chalkboards. You could do some really cool stuff with different colors in your theme. If you aren’t an artist, get someone to draw or letter for you.

Don’t put the bulletin paper all the way to the edge, you can make it even and cover it with boarder

You could keep the second blackboard for the students to write on like mind mapping sessions or reviewing

You can always just have actual squares of bulletin board paper with a divided with the border so like that one big blue bulletin can become three or four and that way you have to buy less paper cuz the portal be taken up more space and you have to worry less about it lining up

Yeah you should definitely look at School Girl Style for examples of how to triple up borders! That’s what I’m doing this school year. I’m glad not the only teacher super excited about decorating my room so early. ❤️

I suggest that you lower the dotted paper, so that there is an equal amount of board showing on the top and bottom. Your border will cover that difference up, whereas it won't cover a large gap on the bottom.
