Well, I'm a doctor and have never heard of such a thing, medically, unless you have medical issues that would put you or your baby at risk. Just from reading that, it sounds like your age is the main concern, regarding the doctors thoughts on maybe wanting you to enjoy your life a little first? Wait a little longer to be more "settled down"? Figure out if it's what you really want, at this time in your life? If you and your significant other are solid, you know what you want and you have great SUPPORT (family, esp.), and you have no big health issue they're referring to, then medically speaking, you're more than old enough to carry and deliver a baby safely & healthfully. Just my 2 cents. (Maybe ask them for clarification, or find a supportive doctor that feels good for you.)

Hi, I'm a current medical student, I have heard some Ob/Gyn's mention that younger and older mothers tend to have more birth complications. That may not be her reasoning, and It's obviously not a guaranteed statistic, but pregnancy tends to be safer in your mid to late twenties, especially seen in third-world country stats, since the female body usually reaches its full adult maturity around those years without risking fertility. However, if you feel comfortable and ready to conceive, and your doctor has cleared any health concerns, the decision is ultimately up to you and your husband.
