I absolutely love shopping in places like Ollies for fishing and outdoor gear. You can find some really awesome deals on stuff that would cost a mint in other stores. I'm in my 50s and I've caught billfish, tuna and big sharks. I've fought 7 foot cobia on handlines and chased grouper on reefs. None of that compares to pulling a 1 pound fish out of the weeds on a tiny kids rod with 4lb pound line and lures that had dust on the packet in a discount bin.

Never knew Ollie's had this type of fishing gear. I've never been in one to be honest. But now that I've seen this, I will have to drop in. Fishing with Zebco rod and reel is what I started out on as a youngster. That's a skill that never leaves you, no matter how old you get or how long it's been since you've last been fishing. Gotta love a zebco! Awesome video.

Video idea inspired by my fishing day yesterday: fish whatever lure you'd like...on ONLY Dock Demon or Dock Runner rods. Lots of hits, but hard to get a good hook set and land fish.

Seems to me that if you're just starting, going cheaper is better as like any hobby, you might find it's not for you. Once you get the bug for it, then the first thing to invest in is a good rod or reel. Perhaps you could do a video about that? Show what a starter setup should look like and then where and what should be upgraded from there.

Funny I noticed the Ollie's by me has a pretty big selection of fishing stuff .. few years ago all they had was like 2 poles and a pack of lures now they have a whole aisle loaded down..

I used to use those 808s for catfishing. Set up on an in-ground rod holder and prepare to have some old school nostalgic fun.

With Ollie’s being a consignment store. They get everything from stuff out of season, to things from a store that closed down. Thw fishing tackle I’ve noticed is usually great since there may be overstock somewhere.

This brought back memories! I can't tell you how many bass I caught (as a kid) with a Zebco 505. Some of them pretty nice. 5-6 pounders. Had so many snags in the ponds we fished we had to use 20lb Stren line. I finally saved up enough money to buy a Zebco 33. LoL. I though I was Bill Dance.

I have always been a big fan of the Dock runners.. I keep one with a open real in my bag and in most of my car's. I know it's overkill but I have braided line on them. But they Are my absolute best and luckiest fishing rods. And they have a extremely crazy bend.

I went to that same Ollie’s probably about a year ago and the fishing section was a little foot wide section with a couple of zebco combos like the dock demon and that was it.

Really enjoy your videos I have learned a lot from you I am just getting into bass fishing and going to start doing you tube

Jig head with a swim bait definitely slept on cough two 4+ pounders in them last session just in the fall time.

lunker city use to make 2.5 and 4 inch swinbaits, called the lc grub. 1/2 to 22 pounds striper, largemouth, smallmouth and crappie. used 1/8 to 2oz jigheads.

I love Ollie's. They are an overstock store. The same fishing stuff you have in that store is in the one by me in Indiana.

The Ollie's near me yesterday had a nice selection of Crosseyez Chatterbaits for $5.99, Live Target Hollowbody Jigs for $4.99, Live Target Hollowbody Sunfish for $6.99, and many other oddball interesting things. As well as decent looking Quantum baitcasting combos for $40.

Yeaaaaaaa.....your Ollie's has WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more than mine does lol. We have those same Zebco combo's and thats literally about all.
