I’m from Manchester and lived around the Mahurangi peninsula for 4 years. I miss driving off my kayak. I live in Hawkes Bay nowadays and do a bit of surf casting but miss my diving days.

Not really, it’s better than a lot of places but most would agree it’s poorly managed and somewhat corrupt as with everything these days. Some species are fine and some others are on a huge decline

ohhh that smoker, I could smell the smoke and taste that fish, been many many years since I have had kingy at home, you brought back some amazing memories, it was my job as a kid to light and keep the smoker going, many thanks for a great vid!!
