@@don156 sadly that’s the problem with modulars. After it’s built You never really appreciate the inside again. Wait for the inside of flourish and blotts. Now the inside of that one is very impressive

@@theintegralcogcould I ask, do you plan on doing the full diagon alley including gringotts bank? Maybe adding other shops like madame Malkins or borgen and burks? 👀👀 I’m very interested in starting my moc journey with this inspiring design 😍

Another lovely MOC but I can’t help being a little disappointed with the transposition of the buildings. He’s stuck with the Philosophers Stone styling of the buildings but used the Half Blood Prince layout of the Alley. This would annoy me to no end if it was in my collection. Despite having my nerd rage triggered it is a very impressively styled MOC and I look forward to seeing the third module, I’m sure they will look glorious together. It’s a shame they make Gringotts look so wimpy though.😉

I’m sorry to have disappointed you @brickinitlego! Would absolutely love to know how you would have better served the quandary of there being multiple versions of Diagon Alley? I wanted to stick closely with re-designing the original set and chose my favourite aspects from the very limited source images of each shop from each iteration. I chose to base this first building on the Ollivanders & Scribbulus from the London Studio tour (half blood prince). I then fell in love with the real life buildings they created for Universal studios (Quality Quidditch, Florean Fortescue’s etc.) I just wanted to created a more detailed modular version of the iconic street :) I originally set out to re-design Diagon Alley just for myself, and plucked up the courage to share with Instagram followers and sell instructions for this. I have been fortunate enough to have other people fall in love with my designs, especially because of how much time and work they take. Hope I can impress you at some point in the future ❤

@@ministryofmaking7260 There is no aspect of your build that is unimpressive in a technical sense. As a MOC of sufficient and surpassing quality to be an official release set I can't argue with it's quality. Having seen your previous builds I had thought you were expanding on the ideas expressed by LEGO is creating (with one major caveat) the Philosopher's Stone version of Diagon Alley. With no reference to your design process other than seeing the finished product I hadn't realised you were taking a fresh and original approach to the layout of your Alley and so made an incorrect assumption about your faithfulness to screen accuracy. As a builder without the financial means to recreate your excellent designs I have the outsiders tendency towards big talk and no follow through for which I apologise. Having seen your builds only through this build series I had incorrectly assumed you were designing towards screen accuracy, which the appearance of your excellent MOCs certainly supported, which explains my previous comment if not the bullish assertion that you had made a mistake. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this series and I hope that these videos bring much deserved attention to your designs and I wish you the best of luck with future creations.

@@brickinitLegoOh my god, no need to apologise at all! I was genuinely wondering what I could have done to get as close to accuracy as possible, as I want people like yourself to look to go, yes, he’s nailed it 😅. Thank you so much for the enormous amount of praise, it genuinely means the world! The thing I struggle with the most is my own ‘OCD’ approach to things and I spend ages going back and forth about what would be the most accurate, I’m one of those people who can’t just do something for the sake of doing it. I have often cursed the filmmakers for not providing enough images/shots of the buildings so I can maintain complete accuracy! 😂 No offence taken, just genuinely striving for perfection! (How unrealistic is that!? 😂) At least Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes is consistent across all images and references! (In the middle of that at the moment which is giving THE BIGGEST HEADACHE!)

@@ministryofmaking7260 WWW is the the biggest stumbling block I have with the LEGO Diagon Alley. As probably the most iconic building they could hardly leave it out and yet it never featured in the PS version of the Alley. If anything were to trigger me it's that and even I included it in my MOC Diagon Alley, demonstrating if nothing else, a breathtaking hypocrisy.😂 I had a quick look through my reference book covering Diagon Alley and it pretty much gives you a good look at every shop except scibbulus! Typical. I have no right to criticise, especially with the time and effort you have put in and I look forward to seeing the fruits of your Labour with WWW. Good luck and carry on!
