The England-trained versatile actor with an impressive track record of over 50 years in the industry gave Nigerians some of the best stellar performances to date, acting like a king or the wise one in various movies.
Sadly, in the past few years, rumours spread like wildfire that Olu Jacob has passed on on several occasions. This is coming after a long absence in public eyes and in the Nollywood film industry.
However, recently he showed up during his wife's 60th birthday celebration of life. Again on November 13 at the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF), where he was presented with a lifetime achievement award.
People, however, pointed out how frail and confused he looked despite looking dapper and smart. He was being assisted by his wife and son, who almost babysat him throughout the event.
His wife of over 36 years, Joek Silver, debunked rumours about her 79-year-old husband's life and health over the years. The 60-year-old finally spoke out for the first time during an exclusive interview with Jideonwo Chude and revealed some heartbreaking news about the fragile state of her loving husband's health.
This will be the first time Joke Silver is speaking on the sad issue that has got many worried. She revealed that Sir Olu Jacob has dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB)
