God bless you I was about to get out the hacksaw :) One thing you could mention is that the plastic thing that comes out with the castor inside doesn't automatically open. You need a small flat-head screwdriver or something similar to open the tabs. You'll see 4 holes per side: in there is a release clip, like an arrow. You push it one way or the other and it will crack open.
