Olympic Airshow-FG-1D Corsair Starting and Taxiing

Күн бұрынI was testing out a Sony A77M2 body at this airshow. This video clip was edited in Adobe Premiere. I added contrast, increased the brightness slightly, and sharpened it. The lens was a Minolta 70-200 f/2.8 SSM. (F4U Corsair)
I know this is a long clip of a plane just sitting there idling, but if you're like me, you don't mind staring at a Corsair for eleven minutes. What an awesome plane!

Love hearing these engines run. Specially when they first hit. Nothing sounds like a big round engine. Gives one eargasms.

For those who flew these an worked on them in WW2 an Korea are mostly gone today. Its really amazing that these radials even start an run today. The V12's water cooled are far better

Best piston fighter ever designed. They've always been my favorite aircraft since I was old enough to even remember! Something about those bent wings, and that heavy loping sound of that R2800 is just unmistakable!

How to flood a radial. Nice picture but a wind sock on the mike would have made it a perfect video.

It was the camera's built-in mic. Not sure how to put a filter there. I've recently bought a relatively high-end shotgun mic, however, along with a very nice "dead cat," so future videos should have very good quality audio, even in wind.

Awesome《☆》It's a bit temperamental but once it gets going it makes it worthwhile :*: I worked on Lycoming & Continental opposed 4 & 6 cylinder engines. Some of them sound pretty good but the multi-row radials take the cake🤓☻🤠

The four blade prop was not added until the F4U-4 variant late in the war.

but-but-but I wanted to see it take off... I'll give $1000.00 cash fora ride in a corsair,no joke, I don't care if it's just one lap in the pattern. -I'm getting older -not much time left to hitch that ride. Corsair the most beautiful warbird ever.

I've always been in love with Corsair. I was at Oshkosh EAA a few years back and seen the birds crash. One of the worst days of my life.

Paint is new but the engine is old & worn out & slow to start. Look at all that smoke !
