The truest test of an athlete.....Biathlon....control your breathing, pulse, trigger pull, peep sights at 4” targets, at 50m.... after X-C skiing...all for TIME, too. This is outdoors too...one guy was forced by time to shoot in the middle of a blowing white-out.

when coming out of the prone positions how/when do they unhook the arm cuff?

The arm cuff unhooks automatically as the athlete gets out of position. Since the athlete brings his rifle toward him before getting up, the slack created unhooks the sling on its own.

nicely edited, though i wouldve loved to see some of the women's. i like the song choice - veronicas are kind of laid back enough to show off the cool concentration but upbeat enough to make it exciting

I'm a Quadriplegic shooter and the toggle action of these biathlon rifles would be possible for me to operate-as opposed to a turn bolt action, which I'm not strong enough to operate. How can I get one of these rifles in Canada?

At 1:50 the shooter Bjoerndalen is clearly seen hitting all five targets, but gets three penalties. WTF? or maybe in his native tongue, fy faen!

pjkkerr if you look carefully, you see A little Circle inside the big black one! He is supposed to hit in the middle!

pjkkerr: Prone targets are 45mm in diameter, standing are 110mm. Although the black we see on screen does not alter in size, if you look closely, there is a smaller hole within the target. The smaller portion is created by sliding a metal panel in front of the standing targets, which adjusts the size of the target between prone and standing ;)
