You guys should squat in the power rack with safeties so you don't have to sink to the floor like Isaac did. Also stepping backwards out of the rack to squat and racking the bar by stepping forwards (opposite to what you guys did) is significantly safer as you can see where the rack is.

don't get me wrong, he's strong and has a great attitude, really don't want it to seem like I'm hating.. but I deadlifted 445 @ 19 yrs old, 140lbs bodyweight, was a national record. For a guy as big as him, nation level would be 650-700lbs so there's a way to go, even at the weight class below him at 165lbs the record is 700 so cutting wouldn't help..

This was a fun video! But as a powerlifter I have to say that only Nick's squats hit depth. The bench normally has to be paused and for the deadlift you have to keep your arms on the bar until it comes to a stop. Also be careful when you do this if you don't have an experienced spotter do squats and the bench press in the rack with the safeties.

First of all good job. I was on the All Navy Powerlifting Team at 165lbs class. Once you fail at a weight you cannot go back down to a lesser wait. I know you're not following the exact rules since it's a loose and friendly competition. I'm surprised there was no spotter in the squat. I was cringing watching this. Glad nobody injured themself. BTW in my 1987 competition for the all service meet I squatted 535, benched 375 and dead lifted 545 at a body weight of 165lbs for a total of 1455. I only took third place with that total. Isaac needs to work on depth, didn’t get it once on the squat. I used to be bad at that too, so I lowered the weight from 365 to 300 a year ago and I would count it if it was ATG. Now I’m back up at 455 ATG. Dude is a beast at deadlift for his weight. Mad respect for that.

@Cringe Lord I didn't run a program, but I just max out ever 2 weeks and squat twice a week. One of those days is 5x5 the rest are pretty much whatever I feel like whatever rep number I feel like attempting a pr on. Another thing I did was I ate 200 grams of protein daily instead of the 100 grams I was eating before. Also I tried to get this protein from meats like steak and chicken. You can buy chicken thighs in like 5 lbs for a very good price. half a lb of chick is about 60 grams of protein. Also blending chicken breast sounds terrible, but its actually not that bad.

Just a tip I’m not a professional or anything but did quite a bit of lifting for college football, when you’re coming up from the bottom of your squat swing your elbows forward it brings your chest up which puts your body directly under the bar giving you more control/Power

When you maximize your NATURAL strength, it does not go away fast. Example: I am 33 years old, and hit a squat of 660 lbs last year, and it wasn't my max. No spotters on a power rack with no equipment so I couldn't go super risky. I'm a 260 lbs lifter BTW. Went and Truck Drove with no leg training for almost 1 full year. Came back to do non-driving jobs and worked out the last 2 months... Squat already recovered to sets of 8 on 505 lbs. Bench went from 320 X 10 reps early last year, to 250 x 10 first 2 weeks back this year. Now 10 weeks in, I'm already back to 330 lbs X 9 reps. It never really goes away if you keep eating somewhat correctly. Trust me, Truck driving a year don't do it for ya, and I got it all back in under 3 months work. Avoid supplements, steroids, and crap like that and you'll recover your natural power fast once you get back in it!

Bruh, they need to get Chris Duffin to drive down there and reach them how to lift. Those squats were more of a mess than a high school weight room. Nick has the budget to bring someone in who actually knows how to coach powerlifting and/or is a high level powerlifter. This is just making a mockery of powerlifting.
