@@teleplace2639 Olympic athletes specifically gymnasts don’t have much opportunities to make millions of dollars. the Olympics happen every 4 years and most female gymnasts retire at around 20ish so there is a minimal amount of time before their bodies give out.

I agree but the rules were changed and apparently no one was actually told prior to those events and u could tell other athletes were caught by surprise as well. Hands down that was the dream team of gymnastics so they have made history twice now back to back Gabby done it in 2012 and they done it again in 2016 so we all should be jumping up and down that those 5 women rocked the Olympics lol

The interviewer is the one to ensure that all comes off well so that the public is not stirred to think something negative (that might not be the case at all, but that has such an appearance) Reporters and interviewers today have a lot to learn. They need to conscientiously seek to bring out good in their audience by the things they say and how they say them.

Australia didnt qualify a team for this olympics, but Larissa Miller competed. she is a wonderful gymnast!!! she was a silver medalist on bars at this year's pacific rim championships.

I really hope it's not because she feels like she failed herself by not coming back and winning the gold again. She is an amazing athlete, and I hope she remembers that she was what, 16 when she won gold in 2012. THAT'S AMAZING. And to be able to come back and be on the team again, and to not feel pressured to do skills her body isn't comfortable doing, well, that's just a healthy mind set. Gabby, I hope you read this, because I want to reassure you that you are an amazing athlete (I know that probably doesn't mean a lot coming from some silly stranger), and that it is ok to be bummed that you didn't win gold again, but that you are still amazing, and no one can take away what you achieved in 2012. Keep fighting for what you love, and just try and make yourself happy :D

Yes, Oksana got the team gold in 92 and a silver in vault 8 years ago already. She did not do better in the vault finals in London than she did here.... though what she tried in Rio was a more difficult vault) and, the standard has gotten much higher than Oksana can compete. Complain about Dominique if you want, but the BBC commentator Christiane Steel told Oksana to stop after London. Dominique is being gracious.

I feel Gabby had issue maybe before she came back. We do sincerely feel proud of Gabby of the the last Olympics. Now it is time for others. Let us all work together with each other. And really look into the mental and physical part that Gabby is going through. I am sure her teammates were able to experience more of her conduct then we saw. I have a feeling that her team mates also segregate her because she did not win a medal of her own and she is failure. The media just worsened the situation before the Olympics. Laurie is confident. Simone is confident. One thing is for sure is when you believe in yourself it comes across. 2012 Gabby was confident and it showed.
