Enjoy this look back at Pusarla Venkata Sindhu's epic highlights at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro that secured India's first Badminton silver medal ever! India's PV Sindhu was seeded ninth at Rio 2016. After dominating performances in the group stage against Hungary's Laura Sárosi and Canada's Michelle Li as well as in the round of 16 versus Tai Tzu-ying, Sindhu faced the second seeded, China's Wang Yihan, in the quarterfinals, whom she defeated in a thrilling battle to proceed to the top 4 players of the Olympics. In the semi-final, Sindhu beat Japanese Badminton star Nozomi Okuhara to secure an Olympic medal. Finally, in a close and intense Gold Medal game, Sindhu lost against Spain's Carolina Marin. Despite the loss, PV Sindhu created history. Not only was she the first Indian to become Badminton World Champion, but she also became the first Indian woman to win an Olympic Silver medal!

She is a fighter and a big tournament player. Very humble, an inspiration to all aspiring young sportswomen. I have been following her badminton since the beginning and have seen ups and downs. Every time she is down she gets up and comes back stronger.
