Action shots of Blue-tailed Bee-eaters using the Olympus Em1 mark2 body and the Olympus 100-400mm f5-6.3. Some shots are made with added Mc-14 teleconverter. ISO were kept 1250-2000s and speed are 1/2000s to 1/4000s for action shots.
Procapture-low mode were used for the unpredictable flight shots.

Hi James you have good skill & stunning shot. Do you use single focus or group focus point? How to you move the focus point so fast especially bird is moving so fast?
@jameswong3105
@jameswong3105 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ricard, I used mostly single focus set at C-AF + tracking. As the m43 sensor is small, i would try to compose first and avoid too much post cropping which will waste pixels..As these birds are quite predictable in term of their actions, I would pre-focus near the perch and follow them. I also use the Pro-capture LOW to help nail the shots. Shutter speed is 1/2500s-1/3200s) There will be misses/hits and the camera technology do help to increase the hit rate. But to know the bird behaviour /season and good location are important factors .

@@jameswong3105 i was about to ask if the go back to the same branch always... Other than that great pictures

@@emudojo Yes, if it the species season, they will go back to the branch. So in nature photography, although equipment is one factor, knowing the behaviour of the wildlife is important too.
