OM system should come up with a new 28 Megapixel Sensor to be able to add more features and shoot video 4K at 120 fps. Perhaps, launching a new OM-2 Digital Camera will be the best for OM System. OM Fans are still looking for an 8K video capability, as well. I am still using my Olympus OM-4ti Film Camera, without any real problems other than film developing and printing.

People need to understand this is more or less a gap camera. They can no longer produce products with the Olympus name, I think this is better than just stamping OM system on the front of the same OM-1. The lens is a lot more than a rebranded SIgma. On other systems you have to buy a sigma teleconverter to use the with 150-600 sports lens, also this is a 300-1200 on m 4/3. I can see them releasing something even better next year.

When you are holding the lens and camera I have the impression that the lens is to big and heavy for m43.

Try holding a 300-1200mm FF (my bad small format) lens on you SoCaNi camera.

@@pwx8460 There is no such lens in the FF ecosystem. But this lens is a 150 -600 mm in FF. Nikon has a 180 - 600 mm z mount lens and if you use it with APS-C will get a crop factor of 1.5. Canon has also a 200 - 800 mm FF lens and used with APS-C 1.6 crop will also reach this angle of view. Both lens are cheaper. The issue is that m43 is created to have smaller and compact body and lenses. Using a FF lens on a m43 camera does complete the opposite of this purpose. What m43 is becoming a crop sensor camera for FF lenses, which is a situation that exists allready in the APS-c and FF world. What is the unique selling point in the future for m43 if Canon, Nikon and Sony release a stacked sensor APC-S with fast read speed ideally for wild live and birding?

@@angeloplayforone Exactly no such size lens for FF since is would be enormous. Why is the crop factor between FF and aps-c acceptable to you but the additional crop factor with m43 not? You can mount whatever you'd like on m43...need just wide angle and normal you have a small kit. If you need a zoom reach to 1200mm, guess what....it's gonna look like this offering. A focal length is a focal length...no free lunch. Packaging could be improved perhaps with the barrel diameter perhaps slightly less....note difference between the 2 100-400mm offerings between Pany and OM, but for same aperture and FL, there going to be similar. OM is a small company, far larger companies have sourced their lens manufacturing from other vendors....oh and not bothering to facilitate things like sync IS.

We put some extra ram in it, change the name and raise the price. Then all we need are "specialists" like this one who is parroting what Om system told him to say. Et voila, a "new" camera!

@@BurhanMuntasserCheerleader?...I literally said nothing about the camera. I only provided commentary to the trolls that only complain about gear. Maybe if you spent more time as a photographer instead of a gear junky you could improve your photography. Did your camera suddenly stop working with this new release?....Is OM forcing you to buy this new camera? To say something about the camera...yes clearly an iterative release, but clearly not just firmware.

whatever company that bought Olympus camera, is doing exactly what I thought they would do. prey on the Olympus fanboys by just basically releasing whatever it was already in the factory with minimal upgrades and knowing that they will buy them anyway because it’s something “new” I give this company may be another two more years to try and recoup their money before they shut it down .
