Bands always sound great when the guitar isn’t loudest. And I’m a guitar player. Having the bass and drum carry the groove, the keys maintain the chords shifting through the groove and the guitar is just punching in the sweet funky stabs at the right time. Much more tasteful than just chugging downstrokes nonstop.
