Steph hat den aktuell innovativsten nigerianischen Artist, Songwriter und Producer Omah Lay bei seinem ausverkauften Konzert in Berlin getroffen. Dabei haben die beiden über den Release seines Debütalbums „Boy Alone“ gesprochen, das im Juli letzten Jahres erschien. Außerdem gab es für den Künstler ein besonderes Andenken - eine Tattoo-Session parallel zum Interview.
Dunkel schimmernde Vocals, ein faszinierendes Storytelling und treibende Rhythmen - diese Worte beschreiben den Stil von Omah Lay wohl am besten. Den Durchbruch erlangte er 2020 mit seiner Single „Bad Influence“, die in den sozialen Medien viral ging. Seitdem ist er mit seinem einzigartigen Sound ein fester Bestandteil der Musikindustrie.
Gegenüber Steph verriet er, warum sich seine Werke so sehr von anderen Künstler*innen unterscheiden. Somebody tell Omah Lay that he's a magnet for narcissistic and borderline girls. He has a good heart, and he will always choose those girls who pretend to be weak and vulnerable. He'll try to fix and empower those girls. Only for them to take advantage of him and try to make him feel like he is the problem. Fake friends too will come around, and no matter what he does, them fake friends will say it's not enough.

The girl doing the interview is more of a psychologist than an interviewer. It was more like a therapy for Omah, and anyone else who may have the opportunity to watch and listen to this interview at any point in their lives that they could be going through some low times. I’m glad I had the opportunity to really listen to this interview.

Mental health is difficult illness like all chronic illnesses, glad you found the cause and way to cope. Also suffering from anxiety caused by some foodstuffs additives and most medicines.
