Property Taxes, but yes, the roads not getting fixed from the huge taxes, definitely is a problem, think of it, you're poor, and wheel gets torn off it's hub/axle, or ball-joint pops, due to poor roads. The city started at downtown and expanded going west so everything east of 72nd and 10-15 miles north or south of dodge is the oldest parts of the city. 24th runs from the south side(mexican) to the north (blacks) but this is just a general rule as theres plenty of blacks on the south side and Hispanics and asians on the north. @hegeliandetective10343 жыл бұрын
@Nicolo Blum Here's one; When Omaha annexed a large landmass, just west of Omaha at 168th, because the family at 156th, wouldn't sell, it took years to get the family to sell that section of land, and they made a fortune after Omaha had spread out. What was a few hundred grand to them in the 1980s, was worth tens of millions, per mile.
@hegeliandetective10343 жыл бұрын
@Nicolo Blum Here's another. Just years ago, Omaha spread out past 180th street. With the expanse, Omaha shut down the out-skirts' water-wells, to hook that part of Omaha, to Omaha's water system, instead of the water wells. I can tell you the name of the only one neighborhood that demanded that they keep their water-wells.

Honestly, there's days things look tidy and picked up. It can look good with gardens and home-improvements. It's a shame the property taxes are hell, though, that would help people if we could lower the taxes so that poor people can rise up and build out their neighborhoods, fixing roads, building playgrounds, building pools.
