I've lived here in Omaha since 1995 and it's always so fun to see someone's enthusiasm for our zoo for the first time. Its like seeing it all over again with a fresh new look. Its awesome. My husband and I are moving so I'm for sure going to miss this zoo. But I am so glad that yall enjoyed it!!!!!! What was your favorite part of the zoo?????

I live close to there! Always take a deep breath in when driving past Rotella's. Our zoo is FANTASTIC.....So glad you got to visit it. People don't realize how much Omaha has to offer. When they think of Nebraska, they always just think farmland!

The zoo also has a drive-thru safari in between Lincoln and Omaha. and at the same exit is also the Strategic air and space museum.

Thank you for the amazing video of the Henry Doorly Zoo. We visited there in the early 2000’s . They have added so many more exhibits. It was awesome back then, already planning another visit. I hope you had time to visit the SAC museum west of Omaha.

As someone who grew up in Omaha, it means a lot to see that people care so much about our zoo. I'm always so surprised to here that our zoo is actually some sort of big deal to the rest of the nation. I always thought nobody thought about Nebraska at all. Let alone Omaha.

I was Born & Raised in Omaha(been in Vegas for 20+ yrs now), going to that Zoo and the Landmark that used to sit out in front of it, Rosenblatt Stadium, former home of the College World Series. The Zoo looks so different but some parts still the same. Great Video.

I lived in the Omaha area for just over 30 years, starting in 1985 and got to see that zoo grow over the years! Always had a membership over most of those years.

The shark feeding time is cool too. My kids asked for the zoo almost every weekend when they were little. It ended up being a full on “Z” day… Zoo then Zio’s Pizza then Zesto’s for Ice cream. Glad you came to Nebraska, visit us again soon.

All these animals bring back so many memories for me. The Black Mamba... (Back home) yeah, I was chased by one, and thank God I was a kid then, Forest Gump had nothing on me LOL...Then I learned aboot Greens LOL... Only snake bite was a mole snake, in Cape Town. I thought it was garter snake, we were scaring the girls at school... My hand and arm were numb for a while... The Rhino's are my Fav(you can tell by my Tats)... Meerkat's are the funniest creatures LMAO...they should all be standing tall at Attention LOL... Abby, I have a Great suggestion for you. Ocean Conservation Namibia YT, is just a few guys with limited gear, doing incredible rescues...They could always use some attention to bring more awareness to the world, It will warm your heart.... Oh The Beer Eh!!...Heheehehhe---> as I take a chug... Nothing like an ice cold beer, and prefect steak!...The Storm, WOW...that's as scary as you get, considering the location.. I just came across the part about the pinball machines, I came across a story earlier and I think it was in Southern California were the pinball museum went out of business and are selling all of their machines at auction. This would be a good collection for her.

The steam train reminded me yall should have made it up to rollag Minnesota for the Steve Thrasher reunion it's a big thing they do every labor day and the show off a ton of steam powered tractors old steam powered mills and lathes they have a steam powered saw mill its really cool if your into old iron and how things use to be done!

Maybe cable tie downs for the camper? I do like Abby. Genuine enthusiasm for life.

If you want to see a great zoo, you need to come to the Columbus Zoo in Ohio next you are in Ohio

OKC Zoo is in the top 5. They had a contest a few years ago and our zoo was #2. You will have to check ours out sometime. We have a new baby giraffe and another one expected soon. They have a facebook page. We have a special Asia exhibit that has elephants and other animals. We will have to visit Omaha Zoo sometime. Our daughter was volunteer at ours for years. She is a reg vet tech.

Best part of Zoo is Lied Jungle did you see it? Rotellas bakery has a great outlet store there strongly suggest you try the steakhouse bread, the rolls and breadsticks dirt cheap there. there is an amazing bronze park downtown that stretches several blocks and the Joslyn museum will take your breath away and for some real fun try coming to the College world Series.

If you get on the Henry dorley zoo web site there is a live feed video and you can watch the penguins. I hope you enjoyed Nebraska. If you come back I can tell hundreds of attractions here in Nebraska.

ROTELLA'S YEA was just there yesterday and last week and the week before.

You could have went across the street to Rotella’s(the great smell)They have a shop and the bread is like .50. Oh and I live about 10 minutes away from the bread store.

Would LOVE to have a few pinball machines, but right now??? CRAZY prices. Found a Fireball II and the guy was asking $9,000 for it, and it didn't work. It probably needed $500 in repairs. Saw an old 8-Ball EM (Electro-Mechanical) as well, but they wanted $5K for it. I spoke to a few people that repair them, and all said "NOPE, WAY WAY WAY too high"...so I wait. :(

I've been to that zoo and I used to live in Omaha, Nebraska, which is my hometown. I'm sure the humidity is close to 100% in that enclosure. Snow is cute unless you have to sleep in it. I was homeless in Omaha for awhile and I slept in the snow WAY too many times. If you come to Seattle Washington, avoid the Woodland Park Zoo like the plague. Small and nasty. Every species of desert fauna and flora on the planet exists in that dome. Mongooses will kill a cobra quick. There are some HUMONGOUS venomous snakes in that exhibit. Most of the critters there are nocturnal. It would take about a week to see the entire zoo. Where in Florida are you two from?

You should have fed the cheetahs some Cheetos!
