Peyton spoke at a conference I was at years ago and he said no one ever hit him as hard as Lewis. He said Ray would lean on him as he got up and say awful things to him, but was always the first one to shake hands after the game and ask about the family.

Growing up as a Colts fan, my favorite player will FOREVER be Peyton Manning but my second favorite player always was Ray Lewis. The rivalry they had and the chess match between the leader of the offense and leader of the defense, so cool man.

Not only was Ray Lewis an incredible Hall of Fame player, but he was an incredible leader! The way he talks to the defense on the sideline in the huddle is so inspirational and motivating. I would go to war with Ray any day of the week and twice on Sunday💯🐐

My favorite Ray Lewis play of all time in my mind was in San Diego where Lewis came through the line and zapped the SD running back to end the game. That play is etched in my mind. There was nothing that could have stopped Lewis coming through both lines to tackle the RB.

I had the amazing pleasure of sponsoring Ray for a sports nutrition product. Had the chance to work with him many times, including at his home. This man is built...incredible. Wasn't like a bodybuilder, nor would you want to be. He was thick, moved like a panther...limber, viscious. And this was him sitting down at his couch and just walking around like a normal person. He was so chill and nice. One of the best periods of my life.

Ray Lewis, by his own words, didn't just walk onto the field and proclaim greatness. He didn't just go out there and "play". He studied, he spent hours upon hours understanding the game like a nuclear scientist. Greatness at the highest levels of football are always part intellectual.

I dont think there will ever be a middle LB as good as Ray Lewis or Kueckly ever again. That was the peak. They literally were QBs of the defense. You won't see that anymore because of the rule changes and value placed on the position.

If you watched Ray in the early 00's, he definitely lost a step or two at the end of his career. However, even after his prime years, Ray's presence alone at middle backer commanded so much respect from opposing teams and teammates. Watching the game, you couldn't take your eyes off #52. Ray carried an aura on the football field that will never be replicated. Very thankful I was able to watch him and several others on that defense put their heart into something they were extremely passionate about. The game of football.

I always wondered if Ray was going to have brain injury issues given the physical manner he played the game and the long career he had, but he seems to be perfectly fine. No visible loss of motor function at all and he looks healthy and in shape even over a decade after he retired. Now that I think about it, he was the one hitting, not getting hit. The guy never lost a step. Even to the day he retired, he was the baddest mfr on that field.

As a Bronco fan that 2012 playoff loss to B more ranks right up there as the most gut wrenching, heart breaking losses. Credit to Lewis and the Ravens.

As a diehard Patriots fan for 30+ years I’ve seen some really good games, watched us have really bad years and got to watch the GOAT for 20, but I loved watching our games vs these two guys. We had the Colts’ number most of the time but the damn Ravens were NOT afraid of coming into Foxboro in January. I hated when the Pats had play them but loved to watch those games. Respect the hell out of Ray Lewis. Those eyes pre-snap, reminded me of Mike Singletary. Guy was an absolute beast and a very, very smart player

Damn watching this is amazing. I've come to realize one thing. In American sports, only the NFL matters. It really has done a phenomenal job of satisfying the traditional fan base and entertain new fans. The rules aren't gimmicky like MLB. The style of play isn't one dimentional like the NBA.
