The Dubai International Airport, a vital hub for global travel, was severely affected, leading to the diversion, delay, and cancellation of over 500 flights. Even the towering Burj Khalifa, an emblem of Dubai's skyline, was not spared, as it was struck by lightning during the storm. The situation was no better in neighboring countries like Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman, where similar flooding incidents were reported. Oman, in particular, faced tragic consequences, with flash floods claiming the lives of 18 individuals, including children.
Emergency services in Dubai worked tirelessly to navigate through the flooded streets, with police and rescue vehicles aiding stranded motorists. Tanker trucks were deployed to pump out water from inundated areas, as authorities grappled with the aftermath of the unprecedented rainfall.
