Angler Ali Hamidi ventures to Thailand, to target outrageously sized fish & to put 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗦𝗧 terminal tackle to the ultimate test. And there is no better fresh water lake on planet earth to catch monsters and put your fishing gear through its paces than the world famous ‘Gillham’s Fishing Resort’.
In this first part of Ali’s Thai adventure, he concentrates solely on catching monster siamese carp. Ali’s mission is to try to beat his siamese PB of 154lbs. Along the way, he gives a total ‘A to Z’ of how to fish for siamese carp - everything YOU will need to know if you ever want to target these ‘Beasts from the Far East’.
Rigs and bait tips, incredible fish fighting action, massive siamese carp, drama and lots of laughs too - it’s all here in one explosive 40 minute film!

Gilhams is nice but it fished really hard when I visited and I only had a choice of a couple of swims. No draw for pegs is a big poor. Stuck in the corner for 2 days.

Have you ever fished Gillhams Asif? This isn’t an overstocked venue like you may think, some lakes in Thailand can be as they’re made for tourists that have very little fishing experience. However Gillhams is a lake you have to learn how to fish effectively. How you feed, how you adjust rigs, it’s actually a very interesting venue.

We are a brand new company though and this particular video was about us testing out our new products - that was the whole point of this one (plus lots of tips of how to catch big Siamese Carp). There will be a huge variety of videos on this channel - some promoting certain products, some just pure entertainment with no product pushing (like the ONE MORE VLOG series), others will be instructional 'how to' videos. Then you'll have our new ITV show (The Grand Fishing Adventure) which wont promote products at all. But at the end of the day, we are a fishing tackle brand - but we do like enjoy making entertaining content for KZfaq, social and mainstream TV. From Team OMC

The lake was fishing really well when we filmed there due to an 18 month gap when it wasn't really fished. It can be a very tricky lake at times and people sometimes blank, as they do at any lake on the planet. Certainly not like fishing 'a gold fish bowl' as you describe it.

I went fishing there And decided to move to Thailand to live I rent a.nice bungalow for £60 A months electric £22 Water £1 amonth Gas bottle for cooking £10 for 3 months And to empty my bin once a week £1 You really need to be 50 or over to get a retirement 1 year visa or married to a Thai And you need money in the bank or a good pension to stay here You can not own land or buy a house I your name But you can buy a flat There are over 200 jobs ex pat's cannot do And if you start a business you must employ two Thai's If you haven't enough money in the bank You can give them a brown envelope each year In the Philippines a lot of people speak English But in Thailand and that is not the case

We totally disagree! Have you ever fished there? Sometimes people blank at Gillhams. Ali has fished it many times and knows exactly how to fish it. PLUS, when we filmed this latest video, the lake had only just re-opened after covid, when it had barely been fished for 2 years. Any lake on the planet would fish well after a 2 year break.
