I remember my grandfather to be very proud and very protective about his omega constellation watch. He died in 1992 and that watch was passed to my father who treasured it. He died 5 years ago and now it belongs to me. After so many years it still works perfectly.

My dad inherited his when his grandfather passed, and I inherited it after his passing. It's beautiful, and the Constellation will always be my favorite watch because of the sentimental value it holds to me personally, and how it started my love for watches in general.

The constellation is a beautiful dress watch. Bought one for my mom with my first real paycheck. Have a set for my wife and I. Very elegant and sophisticated.

Excellent video and very timely! I have been looking at a modern Constellation Globemaster with the blue dial for some months, but only in the last few days have I started investigating the world of vintage Constellations. The pie pan dials of the vintage and modern Constellations really appeal to me, as do the C shape Genta versions with date-only.

The watch you have is perfect. My most favorite watch with the pie-pan dial, arrow indices, case, hands, movement, star, and crosshair. I must find one. Keep it forever sir.

Exccellent and informative video. I absolutely love these 60s Omegas. I agree that the 60s were possibily the zenith of mechanical watch making and design. The etched plexi is particularly interesting to me as I have a number of Universal Geneve watches and they also etched their logo at the centre of the crystal. Very subtle and hard to spot without an eye glass, but a real tell of originality and nearly impossible to renew. By the way... there is no such thing as having too many vintage watches. We are keeping them alive so others can appreciate the skill and craftsmanship that created them. For a world weaned on MVMT and Michael Kors that is a public service, and I am awaiting my knighthood.

The omega constellation was one of my first vintage watches too, with the added bonus of mine having been in my family for a long while. Definitely has a special place in my heart

Early 1960s Omega Constellation watches : if you are a vintage watch collector, this watch is a must, specially with original rice bead bracelet & original everything else. I have 3 of them already but unfortunately, they are all stainless steel version, but 100% all original with original rice bead bracelet that I love so much. I am still looking for the holy grail of this watch. 100% original, pie-pan, 561 movement with rice bead...all 18K gold. that would be awesome to have.

I don't have a vintage Omega Constellation but I did purchase my 1st brand new 2008 Constellation in Stainless steel and love it then as I love it now. I also noticed the Omega Constellation is popular in the Far East if not Asia in General. I saw a lot of them advertised in Hong Kong back in 2016.

I got mine. Was my grandfather's watch. Beautiful.

My husband has two Constellations. One owned by his father purchased in the early 1950's and worn for half a century of hard abuse. The other, a gift to him from his father upon high school graduation in 1966, still being worn half a century later. Both are pie-pan dials, but the first is gold and stainless case with face like 14900 shown at 1:45 in this video, and the second a face like 167005 shown at 1:47 in 14K gold. We had the first watch sent to an old watch maker in central California for refurbishing after Omega in San Francisco couldn't do the job. It was restored to nearly new condition which took several months. The second has been overhauled by Omega in San Francisco and still looks new. Both have Omega leather bands and Omega bracelets, interchangeable. Since these watches are rare and valuable, they are only worn on very special occasions. For daily use he currently wears just a standard crummy Rolex Submariner.

This is the platonic ideal of a vintage watch. Perfection!

I have an early 1960’s Omega Constellation pie pan that I have worn every day for 20 years. It was my great grandfather’s and has been handed down 4 generations now. I have serviced it twice and still keeps perfect time. Has the original rice band but sadly the crown, crystal and band clasp had been replaced before it became mine. My most cherished item.

Great review. Are you sure the observatory medallion isn't fake as it's missing the brickwork? I have a similar watch. All things appear authentic except for the medallion. Just curious your thoughts.

My dad always wore one and still has it. Pretty sure it is from the early 50s. I asked my mom if he still wanted it... yes, even if he doesn't wear it. I wear his dad's watch which is a Swiss Valory. It is plated but it is sharp.

Hi Teddy, I have a 1960 omega Geneve Calendar. The movement is a 503 with 20 jewels. My dad got it as a gift for his wedding. I have not been able to find any information or videos on it. The dial is very close to your constellation but does not have the crosshair lines.

I love my Constellation, it's a 1973 square dial type with a dark green (nearly black) dial and bracelet that is integral to the case. It's the one in my extensive collection that I'd keep if forced to only keep one of them. The dial lacquer spider cracks on all of them sadly, you have to just accept it.

Where can you buy one do they make any new ones?

But only have 2 swiss watches West End Watch Co. and Enicar. And other are Most of them Japanese and Indian.
