Swatch. Swatch wins! ;) Hahaha, loved this video Harrison! My first reaction to the Scuba was..... to hate it.... Like all watch geeks do. But you know, I think this is a really smart move.. Plus, if it gets more people excited about the Fifty Fathoms, that's a win in my books! :)

I picked one up recently (Atlantic Ocean) and also owning few Moonswatch. I was not quite sure if I wanted one in the first place but fould myself in the Swatch shop again and pulled the trigger. Actually, you get more watch for the money compared to the MoonSwatch, especially a storage box (not cardboard) which is super nice and you can store any watch in there - maybe nice for travel too. Aside the Sistem51 could run up to 15-20 years, with 90 hours (almost 4 days) power reserve. Certainly looks more legible with much better loom than the Moonswatch and I love the date which none of the Moonswatch has. Overly impressed and whoever says its expensive, consider buying a 5K alternative and servicing it for 2-3 times the prize of the BlancSwatch every 5-10 years. 🤓

Not sure where on Earth you're getting 15-20 years from, considering that many ppl have had their watches develop issues well before that. It's an unserviceable movement, which means that the watch is essentially dead after the movement inevitably fails. It'll probably end up being cheaper to keep buying Swatches instead of a proper luxury Swiss automatic watch, but that's if you ignore affordable Swiss brands like Hamilton and Tissot. Even if that affordable automatic has to be serviced every 5 years, it'll have an indefinite lifespan, which makes it better than a disposable Swatch, imo.

Harrison if you turn the velcro strap 180 degrees where the Omega logo is at the 12 o’clock side lugs and the Swatch is at 6 o’clock side of the watch, this will make the whole wearing experience much more pleasant because it fits smaller wrists better that way. You’re welcome 🤯😂👍

Great comparison. I like the MoonSwatch and since one year and a half I am collecting them. I have bought one Blancpain x Swatch Scuba Fifty Fathoms and the quality is obviously much better than the MoonSwatch. More expensive than the MoonSwatch but automatic and water resistant, a big improvement.

Not a fan of either of them. They are both disposable watches to some extent. Moonswatch better as quartz movements can at least have a new battery. I feel they should be treated as collectibles or souvenirs of the originals, not timepieces as such. 100% do not buy these as your only watch, but okay as a collection piece if you like it.

Actually you can dive with that BlanSwatch. It’s water resistant to fifty fathoms (91m).

Hmmm which plastic toy is better? Knowing how tough I am on watches the answer is Gshock. If Adrian Barker can break the pusher on his moonswatch then these things are not child proof.

Greetings from Belgium! I was at the Brussels Grand Place on the release of the Moonswatch, and the line was across the entire square and down the street. Though I believe they only released approx. 500 on the first day. My heart was a bit broken, but I'm kind of glad it was (in hindsight). Yesterday we went into Brussels for some shopping food and drink and saw the new Blancpains on display at Swatch. Went in, and the gentleman showed me the collection along with the black "Ocean of Storms"...maybe the boring replica but the one that had my eye from the start. We went and had a beer at a little hidden place we routinely visit, and my wife said I should buy it. So we went back and I did. They only had 50 pieces originally and only 14 left, but surprisingly no line, but it was the watches everyone was looking at. The couple bits of info I think that are left out is that the lum is "Grade A Super-LumiNova" and it has a sapphire glass on the rear. I gave it a good light shot around 11pm and at 6am this a.m. it was still faintly glowing, but enough so to make it legible. I am not a fan of quartz watches unless they're solar mostly because I don't like to change the batteries, and the 90hr power reserve is the longest yet. Not on par with the real FF's 120hr (I believe its that much), but I'll take it!

It was my wife's decision to go to the Musée de la bière belge in the square because they only have two beers but they're cheap (La Chouffe right now) and its cozy, but the Capital is the best if we want something new, and À la Bécasse for the Geuze mix (a favorite of my wife).

Nope! You can't service it. It becomes landfill. It's a total waste.

It is not serviceable by any means. The movement isn't available on the free market.

No, its sealed in the case forever. If it breaks in warranty they will replace the whole watch, out of warranty you have to buy a new watch@@hansakselos4636

Seriously it’s £340. About the price of 2 decent tyres for a car, 3 decent meals in a restaurant. Less than the going rate for a service of most automatic watches. Why are people obsessed with the what if? Do people buy a £340 auto timex and think the same thing about servicing it. I very much doubt it. Honestly its the same copy and paste comments about plastic etc… Just enjoy it for what it is and if you can’t then it’s not for you.

For me it's hard to tell. MoonSwatch can't be repaired but quartz movement will last longer. BxS has à plastic movement andnd if it can be replaced that could be cool. If it's not and both of them can't be repaired. Both lost.

Really wanted the. Blancpain x Swatch, until i actually saw one. Each to their own, but massively over priced. Can;t help chuckling at the number of them on eBay at stupid prices! 🤦‍♂️

It is just a fun and rather disposable watch. You pay for the design and that is it. The movement may not be servicable but it will last you at least 5 years. Can you buy a mechanical watch for less money- yes, you can. Then again, you do noy buy this watch to be your daily wearer. You buy it as something fun, colourful and a bit out of the ordinary. Overall, I think it is a nice watch.

Hmmmm overpriced 💩 watches. I guess ill let all of the folks who think 400 dollars is just some "cheap fun" enjoy thier toys. My G shock was 52 dollars at Wal Mart, is an actual tool watch, incredibly accurate, has been too the moon on the wrist of space explorers, and had a 24 ton truck drive over it to still be ticking. I geuss i cant judge people for buying this watch, have it break a month later and than just say "oh well, it was only 400 dollars of cheap fun 🙃🙃🙃

I have yet to own this watch for 2 years before it breaks otherwise I can use the two years warranty. You may be unlucky and a 4K watch breaks after the warranty (often 2 years) and you will find yourself fixing it for 400-800 bugs. If I just want a watch I can buy a fieldwatch for 100$ which will outlast any GShock. These watches are not about money or even pretending to be alternatives to the original one. Just a bit of fun - just not for cheapskates 🤓

@@golfendeavor8267What $100 field watch is going to outlast a G-Shock? I've had my £10 Casio for over a decade, which has been thoroughly used, and I've still not had to replace the battery. A G-Shock is on another level, and there's no watch out there that can match its toughness and durability. In all honesty, these Swatches are for rich collectors, not for serious watch enthusiasts who actually want to wear their watches. You may think that wasting money on a plastic toy is a form of entertainment, but smarter ppl think otherwise. Being economically frugal is a sign of intelligence, and only clowns call ppl of that calibre "cheapskates".
