In depth review of the Omega Seamaster Professional 300 which Omega has renamed the Diver 300, and the 2500 coaxial movement beating in this watch.
this is the latest version meaning it comes with a ceramic bezel and the D version of the 2500 movement, that solved all the problems that were present on earlier versions.

Just came across your video. Ive purchased the black version. Its defintley one of the most comfortable watches i have worn and in my opinion has a great classical tool watch look, definitely a keeper. Thanks for posting.

Great Review as per usual ! Loved the intro as well! I am considering the older version with the wave dial as a purchase in 2018 ! That is if I can find one in mint condition and reasonable price point.

Glad i found this review, i have the same watch second hand and i couldnt understand how come the saphire crystal looks so scratched, now i know its the ar. I'm not sure if its bothers me enough to try to remove it.

Great organized review I had to watch again. I bought this watch at the end of the production run as the new in house bigger model was coming out. I picked this one because it fit my thinner wrist better and frankly I thought it looked better. The new version just looks like its trying to hard. I understand here in July 2020 you can still get this watch as new old stock. It is the perfect diver in my option along with the Rolex Submariner.

Nice review, I think to buy this omega seamaster blue version 2500 not last 8800 movement, or longines hydroconquest chronograph new model with ceramic bezel L3.783.4.96.6 which one is better choice, worth to pay 1000$ more in omega seamaster.

You review is absolute fantastic.I saw a lot but this one is the best.Not short not long just perfect.Otherwise very helpfull infarmation for me,becouse i was thinking to upgrade my seamaster for the new one,but my have only inner ar coating,and my seiko presige as well:))))))))))) Is the new ceramic bezel compatible for the older (aluminium) Can I change?

Thanks for the review!! I'm considering buying one of these. Thank you for explaining about the 2500A-C movements versus the 2500D, I was not aware of that. Do you think it's such a big deal that I should make sure the watch I buy has the 2500D movement? Cheers

Watch Geek fair enough! Thanks for the reply. Just wondering, do you think many grey market or individual dealers would even know if the watch was 2500 D rather than 2500 B for example? Do you know if that can be determined by the serial number?

The sure way of knowing is the bezel, if it has a ceramic bezel it is D for sure, if it is aluminium insert bezel, you have to check the serial number with Omega. So the easiest way is just found for the ceramic one

I picked mine up on sale as my local AD was moving on to the the new model and the reintroduction of the wave dial, which I did not like. I also gravitated to the blue dial and I agree, it's a shame they discontinued it. I also got mine on the bracelet but have since switched to a NATO which so far I prefer both the look and feel. Overall, a great watch.

My wrist is 8.35 inch only a few watches ever fit me my Seiko pilot does with room to spare but I have to use bracelet clasp adapters on every one of the metal ones

I sometimes wish for a bigger wrist, as there are many watches I love the look of, but are just too big. I never even thought one can have a wrist that is too big and have the same problem of not being able to have a watch they like :)

I bought my blue ceramic SMP300 in December 2012. Two months later I accidentally dropped it when I was trying to wear it while comming down the stairs. It hit the granite steps with a loud thud, bounced two steps down and came to a stop. I thought it was the end of the watch. When I picked it up I expected to see a shattered crystal. No, it was there without a scratch. There was a "huge" dent in the case, that is way too big to be polished off. I expected the seconds hand to be frozen. No, it was moving. I decided to check it's accuracy the next day before I took it to the AD. It was only 3 seconds off !!! I reset the time in my watches only if I see an error of over one minute. With the SMP300 it happens once every two weeks. If it was a Rolex Sub with a jewel mounted (silent) winding rotor, I know what would have happened. Who needs a G Shock !😆😆😆

G shock is quartz it can take shocks a lot better than any automatic That's why the police and the army use them now not automatics

I recently purchased this watch and ended up removing the AR coating. Pretty easy to do with a cape cod cloth or poly watch.

Watch Geek yes, I taped the bezel. I don’t think it would have scratched the bezel, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.

You have to remove the coating completely, I don't know what the best method is to do it

I believe this is the 2012 model (generation 3) and the only model without the “waves” on the face.

I noticed you mentioned "the slightest play" from side to side when discussing the bezel. I just purchased the same watch and I don't have hardly any play side to side, but when I tap the bezel anywhere between 12 and 5 I hear a clicking like the bezel is not completely secure. The sound is only on that one section. I've seen threads that say this is normal, and I've seen others that say it is not. What are your thoughts?

Thanks for checking. That is a good question but I do not know. I purchased the watch from Jomashop. On the box the sticker says "date of production Mar/2017 so I'm not certain about the bezel insert material. The Jomashop quality control manager says it is normal, but again, that response does not seem consistent.

And just to add clarity to the problem, if you've ever seen a norelco electric shaver with the three round blades. Those blades are designed to push in to match the contour of your face. That is how the bezel pushes in, of course it's not exaggerated like the norelco, but that's the best way I can describe the play, and so when you tap it, it clicks and it is only that way between 12 and 5.

Yes. It came with the wooden box and the serial number does match the card. Jomashop is an internet grey market dealer, but I do think they have an actual location in NY (but I'm not 100% certain). This is my 3rd purchase with them; I have been satisfied up to now with this questionable bezel issue. I'm in the US and I paid $2745. Not sure what that is in your currency. By the way, I love England. I had a chance to visit Oxford in 2015 as part of my doctoral program. It was a great experience. : )

Perhaps you can convince Omega to send him new watches to review that would help. I think u will find big watch channels don't get that treatment I would be happy to send him my older but unscratched Seamaster, but that won't accomplish what he was trying. To me, I don't want ceramic bezel on the new ones Besides super easy to change. Anyway, Dude, you get what u pay for watching free videos
