@scott1395 Thank you so much! It was a great time wasn't it?! A time when public displays of hateful comments were few and embarrassing. When we walked into a store and clerks were polite and welcoming instead of rudely implying you're a thief as they check your reciept out the door? Real gas station attendants who thanked you for your business while cleaning your windshield. Music with substance and meaning. Dr Hook and the medicine show cracked me up! I am so glad you connected with me...doesn't happen with good folks anymore. This was fun thanks again.

RobertPlant wrote the lyrics as an ode to JoniMitchell, who'd released the lp Blue, and which included the classic song California... Everyone in music loved Joni during the '70s! Sorry you got some hate in comments about using the live version here, Sarah, but, imo, Zepp does a beautiful version of the studio song! Thanx for your usual heartfelt reaction.

I had tickets for them at the old Boston Garden, a friend went down and scored tickets for 6 of us BUT then Mayor Kevin White cancelled their license to play because 2,000 fans crammed into the lobby and vandalized the place while tickets were sold at 2AM to get everyone out of there. Catastrophe for us as they never played anywhere in New England again. Tickets for anywhere else always sold out right away, everyone wanted to see them...

I don’t believe I’ve ever seen your reactions before, I’m a huge fan of Led Zeppelin, & I love your beautiful reaction. I’m not sure how much Led Zeppelin you have listened to, but they play a variety of genres, Rock Blues Folk & even a Reggae song. Everything the play is beautiful, the greatest band to ever grace this planet. They have a beautiful set of acoustics, 4 of the greatest musicians ever. Robert Plant lead singer & harmonica* Jimmy Page lead guitarist founder & music producer* John Paul Jones bass guitarist keyboards & other instruments* & John (Bonzo) Bonham RIP, the greatest drummer. A great Blues song, Since I’ve Been Loving You, live at Madison Square Gardens (1973).

Half of what you are hearing instrumentally is John Paul Jones on Mandolin, I think the camera spend to much time on Page and doesn't show Jones playing, which I think makes the song so beautiful.

I'll take you back there, Sarah. In the fall of 1973, I saw these guys play an afternoon concert at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. I've seen a lot of classic rock acts live, and I have seen some utterly unbelievable performances along the way. But none can compare to that afternoon in San Francisco. You won't find a Led Zeppelin in this generation, Sarah, because there is and always will be only one Led Zeppelin. 😁 ✌️

Fun facts: Led Zeppelin has sold over 112 million records in The U.S. (5th all-time), and has had 7 number 1 albums on The Billboard charts, and had 16 hit singles, but they have NEVER had a number 1 song on The Billboard charts...
@lyndoncmp5751
@lyndoncmp5751 5 ай бұрын
Zeppelin hardly released singles (never in Britain) and those that were released were without the blessing of the band and Atlantic records tended to edit them down to make them short. Zeppelin never performed on British or American tv either. In Britain they had 8 number one albums on the trot, which was a record for decades. Not bad for a band that was never part of the accepted mainstream.

A mindset to overcome. A new age of dreams! The dreamines followed by hard rock.... Excess... Liberties were born, balance fought over, but we did "walk on the moon". Looking for the new dawn...

That era would be unrecognizable to anyone born more recently, and I caught some of it being 64. Peace and love more so, Viet Nam, big changes were happening in society which before and after is still much different from now, also in music fortunately for the much better. I was able to visit my sisters commune in Oregon when I was 12 years old. Seems pretty magical now.

check this zeppelin song, from the live album 'the song remains the same' the song 'whole lotta love' heres the thing tho. u need to find the pre- remaster original album version because the remaster is 40 seconds shorter. they edited out an great guitar riff toward the front. its a whopping 14;25 long but well worth it.

Flowers in the hair seems twee now but the days of us hippies were magical, great living , wonderful music and living to love and working to live, not living to work. Content with what we had until the corporations too over. I saw Led Zeppelin at the 'Bath Festival of Blues and Progressive Music' in 1970 among nearly, 200,000 people. There were many other great bands at that festival, such as Pink Floyd and the Moody Blues (watch their video "Knights in White Satin" with a full orchestra - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g9CFpMmD173bk4E.htmlsi=lGP6KtV9i0QyXHqr ). Living to Love, and of course care.
