Regular was originally for wayv, but bcoz their debute kept getting delayed and nct 127 needed something for their US tour, so they gave the song to nct 127, and wayv later debuted with the chinese version

Fun fact: "Bad Alive" is primarily in English, however, there are a few words and lines that are in Korean and Mandarin as well. You're also just going to have to get used to the fact that Ten will not have a shirt on in the majority of WayV's and his solo content. That is why NCT's Mark actually awarded Ten with the Naked of the Year Award, because he is the member out of all of NCT's members who doesn't wear a shirt the most. It's actually more surprising when we don't see his abs these days. And yes, Ten is an artist, so all those tattoos you see are real tattoos, and most of them were designed by him.

I really love all Neos and I also stan other groups but WayV is my ult group/unit. Since I started watching their varieties and music, It feels like home to me 🥰

Fun fact: Although WayV's "Regular" uses the same title and beat -- and even a few of the same words and lines -- as NCT-127's Korean and English versions of the song, they aren't really the same song. If you look up the English translation of the lyrics for all 3 versions, you will see that the songs are talking about different things. WayV's version sounds different, not only because it's different members and a different language, but it has a different message as well. And that is why the choreography is also different in the other versions. If you look up the lyrics for the Korean version you will discover that the lyrics for the English version of "Regular" is almost opposite of what they are talking about in the Korean version. That's why the album is called Regular Irregular. The English version is what I would describe as the cocky version of the song and it hits on the aesthetic of what appeals more to an American audience. The English version talks about being famous and having lots of money and still not being satisfied until they possess all the riches and fame. "Regular" is supposed to be NCT-127's U.S. debut so that is why they made an English version. However, the Korean version is what I would call the humble version of the song. The Korean lyrics talk about how they are constantly working hard and are never satisfied with the end result and how they hope to have the success that they always dream of, etc. -- which is what appeals more to a Korean audience. The Chinese version of the song also has different lyrics. The MV for WayV's version of "Regular" is about dominating in the technology realm and that is why you see them as stock traders in the stock market and at one point they are literally inside a computer, etc. It's all about dominating in the business world. "Regular" was technically WayV's debut song as well. You should really take the time to see what makes the 3 versions so different. :D It's really interesting to see how 3 songs can be created in 3 different languages using the same beat and feel, and yet have completely different messages. It just goes to show how diverse the music industry is and yet still so similar. :D Another reason why WayV's MV is so different from the Korean and English version is because they are the Chinese sub-unit and at that time they couldn't have anything that might connect them to NCT or make it look like they were working with a Korean company if they wanted to promote in China. Because of the political issues between Korea and China, they had to appear as if they were a Chinese group and were separate from anything to do with SM in order for the Chinese government to allow them to appear on Chinese programs, etc. and to promote themselves and their album in the country.

WayV is my ultimate NCT unit and if you think you're struggling this much with them, there is PLENTY more ;) I also love how you pointed out my bias XIaojun at least three times (so far as I am watching this) in the Regular MV (Riding the mechanical bull, inside the 'V', and the one singing and hopping at the end).

NCT-127's "Limitless" is also part of their dream concept. Everything NCT does is connected to their concept which is all centered around dreams, dreaming or being in a dream state and it is also thought to be connected to EXO and SuperM's storyline. I think the feeling your supposed to get from the MV is actually the feeling of being trapped in a dream and being in that foggy reality, in an in between state, when you are half in and half out of a dream. All of what you see happening is happening within a dream. What you just watched was the performance version of "Limitless" so you heard the song in Korean. There is no story because it is meant to just show off the choreography. But if you watch the original MV, which has more of a storyline, you will hear the song in Japanese. "Limitless" is one of NCT-127's Japanese songs. The vocal lineup and choreography is a little different in the Japanese version, because, for one, it features NCT-127's Japanese member Yuta slightly more prominently. (But Yuta is still doesn't have enough lines even in the Japanese version.) Fun fact: "Limitless" came out in January 2017 and it's Johnny's official debut in NCT and Doyoung's debut as a member of NCT-127 (As you saw, Doyoung first debuted in "The 7th Sense" as a member of NCT-U, but he was not part of NCT-127's debut). So now NCT-127 has 9 members at this point. Yep, Taeyong's use of vocal fry is a unique part of this song. Taeyong has a full range when it comes to singing and rapping and it's one of the reasons why he gets so many lines in NCT and SuperM songs because they can do so much with his voice.

I’ve been a TyongF & NCTzen since 2019, and yesterday decided to go start with your first NCT reaction video & watch your journey of discovering them chronologically. Am at 7:37 now and want to encourage you (if you haven’t already) to react their lore videos… which are based on how we are all connected through the ether & in out dreams. If you remember in the 7th Sense their first call to the world is “Open Your Eyes”. A lot of their messaging is about being aware of the veil of reality & waking up from the dream.

favorite is one of my favorite (excuse the pun?) nct title tracks hands DOWN. and you're totally right with your interpretation. jaehyun and haechan say in the prechorus "loving you feels incomplete and risky, and even if i stumble and go crazy with hate-" the chorus says "i love you, i love you, i'm willing to hurt like hell for you in this destiny. your wild eyes, everything about your existence, girl you're my favorite. i'll burst into tears and fall apart for you when i kiss you in this heat. like a storm, you're my favorite, and i have no regrets baby". it's a desperate and tormented love song. it's so emotional and captivating. one of their best to date.

Yet again, like everything NCT does, it's all based on their dream concept. Hence, why in NCT-127's "Favorite (Vampire)" they are vampires and why you see them sleeping in the beginning and end of the MV. Jaehyun was bit by the vampire which is the girl they sing about and she is the one that turned them all into vampires. It's the intoxicating power of the vampire girl that has them enchanted, which is why they say "girl you're my favorite" in the lyrics. They are beguiled by her powers, which has them devoted to her. This is also why you see them with supernatural vampire abilities like when they flash in and out as they transition between the members. (Often in romantic vampire stories they say the vampires have a shimmering effect.) The butterfly is thought to represent the woman or vampire they are talking about in the song -- instead of turning into a bat, maybe she turns into a butterfly -- which is why you see the butterfly touching their hearts. You also will see a butterfly appear in several of SM's other groups' MVs, which is often used as a metaphor to represent a woman -- possibly representing a connection to the heart of the Tree of Life from EXO's storyline -- in each of the MVs, as a way to connect all of SM's storylines together. For example, in aespa's storyline starting in 2020 Ningning's symbol is a butterfly, which is thought to possibly be connected to the butterfly we see in EXO's debut "Mama" MVs from 2012, and it's even thought could be connected to the butterfly in SHINee's "Ring Ding Dong" MV from 2009. It also could be the butterfly that helps aespa navigate through Kwangya in aespa's recent "ep. 2 'Next Level' -- SM Culture Universe" video, which would explain why we see a similar butterfly in all of SM's storylines. The butterfly appears to help everyone as they travel through Kwangya. Some say the "girl" or "love interest" that EXO -- and possibly now the rest of SM's groups -- is always singing about and you sometimes see in their MVs is a manifestation of the heart of the Tree of Life and that is why they are always rescuing or protecting the girl, etc. And why all their songs are about being in love with someone or being controlled by the power of that person, like they talk about in "Favorite (Vampire)". Or how they talk about knowing they are bad news for the girl but they want her anyway and they can't help it, but in the end they know they might destroy her -- as they say in EXO's song "Monster," etc., etc. When you think of the girl as the heart of the Tree of Life the storyline and connections between the groups begins to unfold even more. If you're impressed with NCT-127's dancing in their "Favorite (Vampire)" MV, just wait until you see their dance practice for the song.There's more to this choreography than what you see in the MV. There is an even more epic intro section that was added to the performance that is only in the dance practice.

God when I tell you I stan alot of kpop groups I mean ALOT and Favorite is ironically really my favorite song. I can not get enough of it! Winwin's birthday wish was for them to dress up like Disney princesses and they filmed Bad Alive while wearing it. It honestly showcases how big of crackheads they are. "Limitless" actually has three MVs (rough, performance, and Japanese version). Many prefer the visuals in the Japanese version more. I think it's interesting that you said the vocal fry sounded like an instrument; I've often thought that Taeyong manipulates his voice as an instrument. The dance practice to "Favorite" is one of my favorites; it's a must-see! "Regular" English version of the song is my fave version because of the swag and because I can sing along, but I agree that the WayV MV is better. NCT 127 also has a Korean version of the song. I can't wait for more of your NCT reactions! Another that you mentioned not hearing in the guide is NCT U's "Baby Don't Stop," so I'll recommend it next. This one is legend, so you can't call yourself an NCTzen without knowing it! ;)

The only complain i have when it comes to 127's earlier songs is that, it's usually Mark and Taeyong ft. Taeil type of line distribution. But it gets better now.

There are actually three versions of Limitless... #1 Rough Cut, #2 Performance version and the third (un-numbered) Japanese version, which is the only fully fleshed out mv of the bunch. My theory is they shot the rough cut for b-roll, and performance for the choreo scenes, but for some reason the main part was scrapped, so they just released what they had. 🤷‍♀️ Then later, reshot the whole thing for the Japanese version, using the same basic themes they tried initially, but better... and with less problematic and/or distracting hair and stylings. 😄 Like, the red outfits and the use of smoke from #2 are done better... and the kinda creepy standing and staring from #1, but less campy. Unfortunately, being released last it's received less attention than the performance video, even though it's technically the superior video.
