Do you remember the 1996 film Deadly Voyage? The film tells the tragic but true life story of then young Kingsley Ofosu who is the only survivor of a group of nine African stowaways discovered aboard a cargo ship in 1992 and subsequently murdered by that ship’s crew including his brother Albert.
When the story of Kinglsey Ofosu and the trial of the crew members made international headlines, multiple film companies approached Ofosu to purchase the rights to his story. The original plan had been to film in South Africa but it was filmed in Ghana and England.
Some of the cast from Ghana include Oscar Provincial popularly known as Inspector Bediako, David Dontoh, Henry Nartey and Juliet Asante. Others include Omar Epps, Adewale Agbaje and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Almost 27 years later and I can’t help but wonder, “what do they look like now, where are the cast now and are they even still alive?
