Video featuring the very vocal pigeon name PEANUT - as a result of its food preference, and another highly entertaining pigeon named BEAKY !!! These two extremely dominant pigeons in particular, at times seem to hate each other, but then at other times can be found hanging about side by side in harmony!!! LOL

My favourite bird, intelligent, loyal, affectionate. World war heroes. Beautiful to watch in flight. They should be protected not persecuted.

Yes, I agree with everything you have said. It's only in the past year or so that I have become aware of how truly amazing these creatures really are. They seem to fly below the radar and are very cautious but when they feel comfortable with humans their behaviour can become astonishingly friendly and a bit spooky (but in a nice way!). Yes it's wonderful to watch them skipping through the air and such an honour when they're heading in your direction just to say hello and enjoy and snack!

haha .. of course some do seem stupid and some appear to play stupid. But there are others that, when you are in a position where they are able to look you in the eye, you will see pure intelligence, and to the point that you feel as tho you are being assessed and scrutinized! :)

Some wild pigeons live near my building and I love giving them grains but they are too scared to let me touch them but I am happy to feed them 😂😂

How lovely. Just be patient. Wild pigeons are very cautious (and quite rightly so). They will often nervously advance towards you if you have food in your hand, and then turn around and retreat (something they will do repeatedly while building up courage to take the food) At some point, some of them will eventually become brave enough to eat from your hand, step on your hand and eventually fly onto your hand. It can take many weeks - even months - but it feels magical when they eventually begin to trust you. I think you will also notice that it is usually the same birds that approach you. Yes, these delightful creatures, who are at home flying about up in the heavens, also enjoy wandering around by foot in close proximity to us and yet most people barely even notice them - it's such a shame

I have about 4-5 pigeons come visit my garden, they come so close to me! Love feeding them, they come exactly the same time each day! Adorable birds!

In my garden scape theres about that same number too!! Last year it spiked up to about 15 after feeding 10 kilos of pigeon food.. :D Got cold feed a bit but it went back down without really cutting down on the food!

Happy to say *Peanut* is not afraid. Nowadays she will invite herself into the room, perch on my hand (if she feels inclined) and look me in the eye and make it very clear vocally that she wants some peanuts - her favourite snack LOL.

@@beakyuploads2161 awww that’s good 😊 it doesn’t take very long to build trust with them , it didn’t look afraid in the video 🥰 maybe he/she wanted the food all to themselves so was tricking the other pigeons into thinking danger 🤣🤣 so they don’t come near, funny if this was the case, 😂😂 pigeons are so interesting especially when you have them as pets, they are comical at times, I have a male and female pigeon both can’t fly, so they are my pets now, I had the male for two years 😀 A couple of months ago, found a female on Facebook so they have paired up, they are so cute to watch 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

It's so wierd when you realize your an animal just like they are and they reginize themselves in reflections.....it adds a level of " your an entity I'm an entity let's communicate" that many animals can't do

Such funny animals, I use to HATE then but after 6 years in NYC I love then, I even take Injured and sick ones to the rescue up by 93ed st. Brought a few home before, such funny animals and even feral they will eventually come around if u take them home. Like within 4 days they were flying up to me, eating off my hands, sitting on my shoulder...they Inherently are more trusting to humans the. Most bird breeds

I have about 6 of these birds 🐦in the same place come to my windows at Ames green apts that came this summers 👌and the family was great idea for me as well as my friends birds with a woman 👩and I know that they loved me alot included a very pretty girl is a whiteness for me to my kitchen window to say hi 👩to me. My landlord thought it was not the only ones who had a good thing bird by the windowsill of a good friend of mine.

Kindness and patience. If you start to feed them on a regular basis - you'll be surprised how quickly the news spreads, and you attract a large crowd of them, that will eventually start fighting for your attention! Good luck! 😊

@@beakyuploads2161 I was feeding one pigeon few weeks ago (one = five. They can detect food EVERYWHERE!). And there was one I started liking because how smart that pigeon was. It had kinda snatched leg with a wire or.. rubber-ish rope..? (I had no scissors or something else to help it out..). And it took the opportunity for "special treatment." It literally started flying around in front of me, so I could feed it right away. Then it landed next to me and waited till I give it some breadcrumbs (I didn't have anything else. I usually carry a pack of seeds with me). I haven't seen it ever since.. what a sly cutie..

They probably just come over. There was a cafe i would eat at in athens when i lived there and id always see the same (one legged) pigeon hangin out. I would try to give him french fries without the other pigeons noticing (they would all want a french fry if they saw) eventually he would come land at the table adjacent to mine as if he recognized me. I think we were friends xD

They are on your very own doorstep. They are very observant, start feeding them and showing them a bit of kindness and before you know it, they will be looking out for you and will fly towards and greet you in the hope that you'll have some goodies for them. (A bit expensive, but peanuts are a firm favourite of theirs) 😊

I HAVE A NICE PEGEON NAME SILVER AND A PEGEON NAME STAR BRIGHT AND A LITTLE WHITE ONE ALSO I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IT IS NOT IN THE SAME PLACE AS WELL AND SHE IS A PRETTY BIRD THAT FLEW BY MY KITCHEN WINDOW LAST YEAR IN 2021 AND WAS SENSE AS WELL AS A FRIEND WHO BROTHERS BIRED AND LANDED ON HIS HEAD SO SHE IS NOW MY BIRD OF ALL TIME.

I love their expressions and especially when you can see that they are happy and content. Such a beautiful and precious creation of our God, I am praying that more people will stop calling them “rats with wings,” and, “disgusting,” because it is a shame that so many people don’t stop to adore these birds like you are doing here. Btw, just curious, have you thought about exactly why some people say, “oh my God”? Have you ever heard that it is a saying that a follower of God will earnestly use when talking to God in prayer or when witnessing something profound. For example, I once had the misfortune of seeing a man die before my eyes in his car just after he pulled out in front of me, and when I laid my eyes upon his badly wounded body I could see he was most likely dead and in deep sorrow I called to God for sympathy saying, “oh, Lord Jesus…” Having faith in Jesus, I knew that God saw everything that happened and that He knew how I was feeling, and I also knew He would help if it was His will. After calling on God this way, earnestly, He answered me and I received comfort knowing that the man who died has eternal life, and the pain of seeing someone you love die was lessened. With this story I want to encourage you to avoid using God’s name in a vain way, and surely, you will be blessed if you do. Peace to you

Yes, it's annoys me that people don't open there eyes and realise how blessed and special these friendly birds can be. There's no comparison, pigeon habitat is high up in the heavens, whereas the habit of rats is underground in dark dank sewers.

Yes!! I much more compare them to ANGELS than RATS! Although even this statement seems a bit racist towards rats as compared with angels, I probably shouldnt favor one over the other..
