Dewaa Budjana is greatly admired by world musicians because of his solo works. One of them is guitarist from RHCP Mr. John Frusciante who specially invited Dewaa Budjana to play at his house, only he who was special could be invited to his house, John Frusciante was a unique and perhaps strange person, he was a very private person, even people didn't know where he lived and like what is his life, but Dewaa Budjana was given the opportunity to know him because John Frusciante really admired Dewaa Budjana's work

What Soimah sang was not dangdut, but Javanese songs. The touch of Jordan Rudess, Marco Minnerman, and Mohini Dey made the Dewa Budjana project (Jazz guitarist) a kind of jazz-fusion.

other Indonesian musician who loves to infuse modern-traditional is Alffy Rev (mostly Java-Bali) and Eka Gustiwana (mix Indonesia) to name a few.. there are also band from Aceh region called Orangutan Squad that fuse modern - rap- traditional acehnese instruments.. if you're interested, you can check them out. There are others of course, but those 3 are the ones I'm more familiar with. Indonesia is a country with over 300 distinct ethno-language group, means each of them have their own distinct cultures, including music/instrument/language,etc. That's why I mentioned their regions.
