Omkar hills is a must-visit places in Bangalore. Omkar hills is around 20kms from Bengaluru in RR Nagar. It is one of the unexplored places in Bangalore, less crowded and very peaceful for family and friends picnic.
Omkar hills - As the name itself contains the spiritual incantation "OM", so is the place - an abode of spirituality and peace. The main attraction of the hills is the Dwadasha jyotirlinga temple. The other areas of interests are Sarva dharma Samanvaya, Matsya Narayana temple, huge HMT Clock tower and Dhyana Mandira.
The view from the hills is fantastic and also this is one of the highest points of the city i.e.2800ft above sea level. The place is suggested to be visited early morning for cooler breeze and peaceful atmosphere. The place is lesser-known for a weekend hangout and appeared less crowded.
Dwadasha Jyotirlinga temple
The temple architecture had the touch of the Orissan temples - Kalinga architecture. The design of the Vimanagopura - pure white temple tower and golden trident disc on the top, gave me the feel of a unique architecture. This is only one of its kind to look around in Bengaluru.
Dhyana Mandira
Besides to the temple, we noticed a beautifully constructed meditation center known as Dhyana Mandira.
Giant Clock Tower
While at Dhyana Mandira, a huge 40 feet HMT Clock tower caught our attention. Wow, we exclaimed. As we moved proximate to that we were surprised to realise that it is the second largest clock tower in the world and is bigger than Big Ben, London UK.
Sarvadharma Samanvaya Peeta
Behind the main temple, we noticed an entrance leading to Matsya Narayana temple. As we ascended the stairs, there was a wide area sheltered by a big banyan tree which is known as Sarvadharma Samanvaya Peeta. Sarvadharma Samanvaya refers to the equality of all religions, to be tolerant and secular in society.

Hey Rajni thanks a lot. No there are hardly 25 to 30 stairs need to be climbed at omkar hills. If you are visiting shanmukha temple then you will have to climb around 100stairs

Is it able to reach by bus any direct buses by majestic

Hi Gaganashree, there are no direct buses to Omkar Hills. You will have take bus from Majestic to Kengeri and then from Kengeri to Omkar Hills. You can choose to go till Kengeri in metro as well.

@@gaganashreess4544 yes you will get a lot of buses from Kengeri. Buses going to Banashankari, Electronic City, Vajahalli metro station would go on this route. You can check with conductor there.
