Omni Wheel Plotter

5 жыл бұрынThis video demonstrates a proof-of-concept plotter made from four 58mm plastic omni-wheels. The slight inaccuracies are due to wheel slippage and a tiny amount of back-lash in the 64:1 gearing in the 28BYj-48 stepper motors.

Wow, very well done. You're getting pretty good accuracy out of the wheels it seems.

The inaccuracies are due to wheel slip ... I think coating them with a fine grit would help.

@@qualityphotos1 Right - how did the hinge in the middle of the design work out? Do you think that helped?

The hinge works extremely well. If you look at the video you can see the plotter sinking into the carpet. To minimise slip in the video I am using the back of a wallpaper roll which has a rough surface.

FYI www.instructables.com/id/Omni-Wheel-CNC-Plotter-V2/ shows my latest version. The correct wheel speeds are obtained using a combination of 8x and 16x micro-stepping for horizontal motion and sqrt(3) for vertical motion. Taking the shine off the molded wheel-rollers using 120 grit sandpaper improves the grip

hey this looks impressive...I am trying to move the bot to a specified goal coordinates with the appropriate feedback system.It works perfectly when there is no change in orientation...but behaves differently when the orientation is changed.Do u have any idea on this?!

Providing the plotter is on a level surface, and the wheels don't slip, it shouldn't matter which orientation the plotter is placed. Not certain what you mean by "approriate feedback system", My plotter has no feedback system in which case any problem is one that you are introducing.
