Hello, I was wondering can I drop midi files into my DAW (Reaper) and have Omnisphere play it back. I have a keyboard but want the keys to match with my guitar. For example, I play in B standard on a 7 string. I want to be able to tab it out in Guitar Pro then import it to Omnisphere. Thanks.

@@morbidcorpse5954 On paper that should work! If you don't have Omni yet, best to try your idea with a free synth in Reaper, just to see if it works. But if Guitar Pro can export a single MIDI file, it should be as easy as drag and drop. Best of luck!

Just got Omnisphere 2 today. Thanks for the instructional on this synth. I'm just getting started at age 65 on synthesis. What a journey it'll be. Again, thank you.

Mind blown. I've had Omnisphere 2 for about 4 years, and have only farted around in it. This video, and the previous one you mentioned, have taught me so much about the synth. Love all your vids Chris, but fell free to drop more Omnisphere content any time! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and talents with us. :)

same boat but add another year. I also think my knowledge was not at the level that omnisphere kinda requires when i bought it... more of a 12,000 sounds thing that sold me

Finally diving into these Omnisphere videos, Chris! Great idea to work with one synth to create multiple parts within a track. Great way to learn a synth inside out.

Thanks for this tutorial! I never knew how deep Omnisphere was. Two days ago, I never knew it could do layering too! But, your tutorial has really allowed me to understand it like never before. And I've owned it a long, long time too. I first started with Atmosphere 20 years ago when I saw it at Guitar Center. I was looking for a new hardware synth and bought it instead. Since then, of course, it's changed its name to Omnisphere and I upgraded to it. I used it for electronic rock and psychedelic tunes. I've never used it for Ambient music. I stopped recording in 2008 after my studio was broken into and I was robbed of about 10 grand of hardware and a PC with my music on it. I've since moved and the new place wasn't big enough to have more than a couple synths in a corner next to my PC desk. About 3 years ago, after I built a 10 x 12 shed, the music bug bit me again and I started to toy around with new hardware synths like Deepmind 12, DSI Prophet Rev.2, and Korg Wavestate. But, although my love for making music had returned, it was not flowing in my mind like it used to. I was stuck playing riffs that I did 15 years ago -- until recently when I rediscovered my Omnisphere license and downloaded it with the 2.8 update. Now, I've started to really enjoy the lighter variety of Ambient music, and even explore more cinematic sounds for a spacy, cosmic sound. I even have my own KZfaq channel now! My Wavestate has some very ambient pads that I really love but it's limited since I don't really deep menu dive to make my own sounds. So, I've turned to Omnisphere to provide me with the sounds that I'd never be able to make in a million years -- but guess what? I found your tutorial and it is exactly what I needed! I never knew making new sounds could be so simple, with some work, of course, but do-able! Thanks for taking the time to educate me -- us! I'm sure to watch this video over and over again as I explore my new found Ambient visions. Cheers!

A great insight into Omnisphere (which is so deep there's always something new to learn) and a great insight into creating an ambient track ... brilliantly explained, non-patronising and genuinely interesting to watch you put a track together ... and that sequence is superb ... off to try that approach now!

My goodness. These sounds are absolutely outstanding! I already knew how Omnisphere is so powerful and versatile but I am really amazed and seeing this creative process as well which goes well beyond just the synth in this case Omnisphere as obviously these same things can be done in other synths. Sure, it may not be all so integrated therefore it might need more instances if you're using a synth like Serum. But this is absolutely great!! Thank you so much for showing us!

I thought " I don't have 44 minutes of my life to waste watching this crap " then I got sucked in. 44 minutes later I wanted more, I could barely hope of keeing up but I gained insight here and there, it all adds to a bigger picture and as the gaps in knowledge get filled in and the tidbits connect.... Yeh, it was very good. subscribed to see more like this.

Woah what "outboard" reverb did you use in this video (26:02) when you were increasing the sends in Ableton for that pad & the bass? It makes it sound real spacious and it's what I've been looking for. I'm looking to buy it too.

Omnisphere is simply the best sounding virtual synth. I use HALion, I use Falcon and still Omnisphere sounds better and is much easier to use, you do not need a university degree to use it like the first two. The only thing that drags it down is the price. At that price it rivals with some of the low cost hard synths, which honestly it shouldn't. And damn, never goes on sale.
