Hey Mark i started doing your two fletch arrows. I am using 5" left wing and i am a right hand shooter. They seem to shoot nice ! Thanks for the arrow fletch tip!

I shoot heavy broadhead and I've shot two fletch for the last 30 years when I started building longbows and they fly super fast

U ain't crazy bro. I tried that last year and had great results. I run my nock a little high and I keep one feather pointed toward the corner of the shelf and the riser. Keep shooting

Droppin knowledge- thank you. Love the primitive aspect of this design. Getting into long bow myself and eventually looking to hunt after a good amount of shooting time

I own a recurve too for that same reason, only my compound is just so much more accurate and can reach out further, so I find I tend to pick it up more so. For actual hunting, I couldn't ensure a humane shot into the vitals at any distance, like I can with my compound.. I'd love to be as good with it but that would take years and tens of thousands of arrows... To be able to out shoot an intermediate compound bowman at 20, 30 and 40 yards would take a decade of practice and not a day less..

Sharpening a convex two sided bevel is easily accomplished utilizing a $7 Rada Wheelie Sharpener in 30 seconds...will be hair popping sharp, however I still clean it up with a glass rod. I have owned the Centaur wheels for years but the simplistic rada system performs so well that the wheels have remained dormant.

For sharpening you can use a wood disc with rubber bike tube and jeweler's ruge and itll sharpen them super sharp,

The fletch and the bevel in the head have to turn the arrow to the same side so to make the "S", right? Also, you should Vermil X nocks or similar, so it aligns the arrow immediately after grabbing it, allowing for easy and fast shooting.

Try some fletching tape. It works great and less time spent on glue drying. I only use the tape with no problems.

Dumb question, but how are you aligning your broad head to your fletching. Are you just screwing in the head and then fletching accordingly to the head or are you shimming the head to the fletching? Thanks for the video!

Mark, have you tried the big game head from Jim? I just got my Centaur longbow from him and I'm debating whether shooting the big game or the battle ax heads. The area I hunt in NJ is thick and nasty, not as bad as FL of course, and I want short recovery and good blood trails. Any suggestions on one vs the other? By the way, great videos and I really enjoy the hog hunting, wish I was there! Thanks

bowhuntznj I’ve killed with all three of his heads. The battle axe are insane but I don’t get a pass through sometimes in my poundage not like it matters because the blood trail is still insane. The new short mags are smaller diameter giving us a pass through every single time on any size animal. Still phenomenal bloodtrails. The big game head is the best of both worlds yet for some reason I still favor the other two. Jim prefers the big game. If I had only one choice I’d go battle axe

How do you align your 2 blade broadhead with your fletching? Do you glue the insert first or fletching first? Thanks.
@OmnivoresHomesteadAndQuivers
@OmnivoresHomesteadAndQuivers 4 жыл бұрын
Fletching first then I use hot melt on the inserts not glue. That way I can heat them up to align the broad head.

@@OmnivoresHomesteadAndQuivers Thank you so much. I got the idea of 2 fletched arrow after watching your video about 1 year ago. And I started shooting pretty much the same set up now . Simmons Shark Safari 265 grains, 100 grain outsert and 2 fletched arrow. 650 grains total arrow weight with 25% FOC.

@@OmnivoresHomesteadAndQuivers The films are fine, lots of good information, but when I'm trying to hear what you have to say, fighting through the background noise is a PITA! Granted, I have hearing loss and wear hearing aids, but you should take into account that may be the case with your potential audience. I know almost all of the "professional hunters" try to heighten the anticipation with dramatic music, but I prefer to watch normal guys doing actual hunts, which is why I turn to youtube. I'd much rather hear the crunch of leaves as a deer approaches because that's what really happens in the woods. How many deer or hogs have you killed while jamming to your boom-box? I'll go out on a limb and guess, maybe NONE. I can tolerate some music as you fade from one scene to another, just not constant. Believe me, I'm trying to help you make better videos, not just ripping on you. I would add, I am not alone. I've talked to friends who say the same thing.
