Not to mention our money system was designed to not cheat. This is cheating by giving a value of a dollar bill a higher value. This should be illegal in America.

This is how I check bills...I check the backs 1st to see if there is a tiny number above the E. Then I turn them over and check for star notes, Then I check the serial # then, I glace at the edges, and see also that the serial numbers are off kilter, different, or the numbers are in a row, and the same color. Thanks for the 1977 bill mule note info.

I just started watching these videos because I found some old coins and a few dollar bills of my deceased husband who died back in 2009…. anyway I was just wondering… do you make money when you find a rare bill or coin when you sell it ? or do you just keep collecting. I would like to try to just earn some extra money because I have grandchildren now and it would come in handy… is it another stream of income for you? I don’t know if this made sense or not but I’d love to hear back from you.

Not sure of today but the rule was if no major change to the bill if one of the two signers are replaced then a new series with the same year different suffix. If both leave then a new year is put on. Or if a new design change. That is why bills from 1928 went to g then changed to 1953.

That’s because it’s been adjusted to cost of living lmao You need to remember the lyrics of one of Oliver Anthony’s song where he says I don’t have a dollar and don’t need a dime. This reflects how he is able to live off of what he produces on his little plot of land he lives on and farms

The serial numbers are different colors? That's called an "ink fountain contamination error" bill and worth a good amount of money if its genuine.

Basically, the one reason that they would change the letter in the series is when they get a new Secretary or Treasurer. The only reason that they would change the date is when they change or alter the design of the bill. The biggest screw up was when they changed the design of the 5 dollar bill but kept the same series date the same. I’ve been trying to find out why they didn’t change the series date (as per the BPE rules) but no one has ever given me a satisfactory explanation or anything. I did manage to get ahold of several pairs of the two different design but unfortunately someone stole most (but not all) of the pairs. Now all I have is just a few pairs of the bills, but they are all in unc shape.

Gotta love how the 1869 bill has a threat to be imprisoned at hard labor for counterfeiting, you wouldn't see that on a bill today

I had a silver note once. Wasnt in the best of shape because it had been used pretty often it looked like. But it said silver certificate at the top and silver dollar at the bottom with black and blue writing

It's because it's off center right the bottom as a wider Gap in the top of the bill meaning that it wasn't printed in the center correct

Wondering....you mentioned for people wanting to purchase off EBay, not to really trust sellers with zero feedback. I understand that in one sense about scammers but on the other hand, is that fair because what about if they are just new sellers to EBay and have no feedback yet? You have to start somewhere right? I was thinking about becoming a seller but dont want people thinking im a scammer...i've been selling for years on other smaller sites.

Has anyone ever seen or have a 1 Dollar Bill that The PLATE Number is the same on The back and the Front. Like 38 on the front right of the Bill and 38 on the right on the back. Not the 8 Digit Green Serial Numbet but the Black ink real small Plate Number. Can they both be the same ever.

I did not know that about the year of the bill but I have always noticed that all the paper money I have ever had the years were pretty much always the same atleast the same notes were the same year. Never knew why.

I have a couple of $2 bills look pristine to me. Date is 1976. The guy I got them from licked a .13 postage stamp and had the post office stamp over it and on the bill. Does that devalue the bill?

Have you ever noticed the last letter of the serial, being printed/punched multiple times? It’s a 1 dollar note ending in B, oddly it has two (2) additional B’s printed randomly before the serial number in black ink (the appearance of one of the random marks is B: the other is the normal B. They are lightly struck, while at the same time there is over inking on the note. I can’t find anything like this. Maybe someone used a typewriter, which would be extremely difficult to match. I grab 100 singles for fun today, I found that elevator/misaligned serial numbers, One star note and a odd amount serial numbers. I’ve never seen $100 singles so messed up. I don’t even know how to see your response? It’s either cool or faked…zero idea why someone would waste this amount of time on a single.

I have that bill. The problem is how to sell that in the market. Not so much a bundle of coins also from different countries I have in my possession but to no avail how to deal.
