4:57 that moment when G is your creation

Ok so one of my favorite differences is Hunk’s line that he says to the soldier. In the original, Hunk tells the soldier to stop shooting because he might hit the sample. In the remake, he yells at the soldier because they were ordered to take Birkin back alive. In the original, Hunk is an emotionless machine. In the remake, Hunk is a cold, heartless killer, but you get to see the briefest bit of emotion slip through. I feel like that makes Hunk more believable, and honestly even more terrifying.

I'll be honest. I love both versions of this scene. The original is a classic cutscene and the music and everything is perfection. I also love how the remake changed it up with a POV found footage style and with that the various tapes you find from the USS members. All in all both are excellent

While the Original is cinematic and full of suspense, the Remake has a sense of realism to it. Both are awesome in their own right.

Before the attack, remake Birkin was all... "Excellent... My beautiful G-virus. I won't let anyone steal you from me..."

I prefer the remake, it has better voice acting, emotions of the characters, and a better environment/tone.

the original scene will always be my favorite (I was a kid in the 90s) but the remake is fantastic "G is my creation!" that was hard hitting

Remake for Emotion Original for Nostalgia and Vibe

The amazing actor/human being behind William Birkin's voice in the RE 2 Remake is Terence J. Rotolo. He's been my favorite actor since I was 15 years old when the first Dead Rising game came out. Also, he plays the voice of Credo in Devil May Cry 4. He played Frank West again in Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite, and Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3. He's also a martial artist, a stunt performer, an action designer, etc. I prefer the remake over the original. Terence's performance made William Birkin more realistic in my opinion. He's been giving me goosebumps in the best way. His acting has been helping get through all of the dark times in my life💖💖💖💖

I'm pretty sure if the soldier who shot Birkin had survived Raccoon City, Hunk would've torn him a new one after the mission.

Fun Fact: the voice actor for William Birkin in the RE2 Remake also voiced Frank West, the protagonist of the Dead Rising franchise.

To me the original is better birkin is ready and not phased his obessed with his work and come out calm and ready while hunk and his team ain't even there to kill or get him but just to grab the samples but a accident happen but instead of hunk freaking out. he tells him" hold up you might hit the samples " giving this vibe they don't care about nothing other then the mission and casualties are things that happen like spillin soda also i like how annette was more caring about her husband and daughter in the original but in remake they made her a outright bitch and only cared about her work making her careless they gave her the original birkin personality but more unlikable

The original shooting made more sense. Birkin had the pistol pointed on two guys as soon as they walked in. In Remake he pulls it out when he's cornered by 4 guys.

I think the original Birkin is much better than the remake. I also like the original cutscene better than the remake. The sound, the voice, the animation, everything was perfect. The original Birkin sounds much more devilish than the remake Birkin.

The original looks great for a game made in 98

Original is more cinematic, suspenseful and the soundtrack is really epic. The Remake one somehow feels lacking. Clarification: I thinks both games in general terms are equally awesome, each version has certain stuff that the other one lacks.

There's honestly no need to compare, the original had a cinematic feel with the classic video game look which has a style that is always appreciated and the remake a more realistic weighty feeling with the new voice acting and visuals. All in all Imo the best way to enjoy the remake is to experience the original first not because either are bad, but just to see other ways the story can be told. Ps. Original VA William is good but TJ Rotolo is awesome

Is it just me or does Birkin's original voice actor sound like the guy that voices Wesker in RE4?

I prefer the older it shows more, of operation Nestwrecker, and seems more realistic in a sence. However I like the remake just the same, it kinda changed it but wish it showed the same amount of the operation. Like the original version.

This could haff been preffented if Villiam Birkin got that promotion he vanted. In my fanfics, Villiam Birkin gets a second chance at redemption, and vee are now great friends!

William dies the same way him and Wesker killed Dr Marcus and took over his research.

i was thinking, if one of the umbrella mercs would have double tapped on birkin they could have prevented the breakout i think...unless the t-virus was already leaked from the mansion incident bc of infected wildlife or whatever.

This is the perfect example of contrast between the remake and the original, The intro, Tyrant dropping from the helicopter, this scene, It's like the first Terminator movies. Kamiya's direction was always more bombastic and expressive, while never turning into complete action. Too bad the remake ditched it completely.

remake was better because in the original Birkin got shot because of a coffee cup falling over which makes uss look like trigger happy mercs the remake shows that the uss attempted to de escalate the situation per training and they fired only after he pulls a gun on them

A Kirkpatrick check out the birkins body and he grab the g sample's briefcase and also William goes after the Kirkpatrick and William Punch Kirkpatrick in the face and knocked a gas mask out of his face and he turned into zombie and William killed a uss team member

Remake trying hard to be realistic but fails miserably: >They make an overly complicated breach for no apparent reason or to ID random test tubes which is more dumb. >They don't just grab birkin as soon as they breach. >Birkin clearly and slowly goes for a gun and then draws down and no one just walks up and riflebutts him in the face or something the whole time instead they stand there with guns pointed at him with no intention of using them since hunk gets angry at martinez...so again why not just grab him at any time? did hunk just want to test out their body armor? Why does umbrella even want birkin alive in the first place? Use him as a slave scientist with access to bioweapons? Couldn't possibly go wrong lol. The original has a certain mild japanese cheesiness to it but it is far superior given the thematic intent of either. Also why would you try to go for a realistic style when the games are full of so much retardation.

The Reboot was okay.. I prefer the original RE2 from 1998. Capcom could've made the game as great as RE1 Remake but they rushed it. Only thing impressive about RE2 Reboot is the graphics, Soundtrack and everything else is better in the original.

The remake is better, the voices feel much better. Can anyone help me with something i quite don't understand regarding the g virus. What were the g's we encounter in the sewers? Were they normal people that got injected the g virus? If it was that why were the like that and William Birkin turned like he did?

The original may have suitable background music to build up suspense, but the remake is a lot more lifelike in terms of voice acting.

So that's how William became the G monster. Before his injection, he was confronted by HUNK team, who came to collect the G virus, but he refused. When he draws a gun, HUNK member, Martinez, shot him. HUNK team collected the G virus, Annette came here and said to hold on. William injected the G virus on himself and his wounds are healed, and he got after them. While he's on pursuit, his right arm has grown and got muscular with eye. HUNK tried to shoot him, but it didn't stopped, William grabbed the sample and eaten and killed the HUNK. Then he encountered Leon, he grabbed the metal pipe. After defeated by Leon, he jumped and fell. He was looking for Sherry to make embryo infant. In the orphanage, when Sherry was captured by Chief Irons, William appeared and putted the G embryo on him. Then, when Claire and Sherry chased by Tyrant in elevator, William impaled him and killed him and attacked Claire and Sherry. In the NEST lab, he encountered Leon, but was hit by acid by Annette. Annette told him about how William became the G monster.

I only liked the game because it was long and the graphics..
