@10:22 what you said is correct sir. Background: Thirunyana Sambandar met Thirunavukkarasar in Thiruvengadu and they spent some time together there. During that time, Jainism was on the rise in the Pandya kingdom. The Pandya king became a Jain. The queen Mangaiyarkkarasiyar and the chief minister Kulacciraiyar were upset at this turn of events. They sent a request to Thirunyana Sambandar to visit Madurai. Sambandar agreed and was about to start for Madurai. Thirunavukkarasar himself has been persecuted by the Jains in the past. He felt that Sambandar being a very young boy, the Jains may cause him bodily harm. Further, he concluded that astrologically, that was not an auspicious period. Hence, he tried to dissuade Sambandar from going to Madurai. Sambandar responded to Thirunavukkarasar that no harm will come to an ardent Siva devotee like him. Then sang Kolaru pathigam. (Kol=planet. Also stands for the effect (usually bad) of the planet. Aru=remove, pathigam=set of 10 songs)

Sir, Loved your speeches. Thank You. I have a Question. When talking about astrology you said everything which happens to man is based on his Fate. Based on this, does a Man being good or bad also gets decided during his Birth? IF everything is decided at birth, then what is a Man's role in life? Then a Man being bad is not his fault right? If this is the case, how will he accumulate good or bad karma? Please clarify on what is difference between FATE and KARMA? Thanks again

In this life, script, dialogue and screen play are pre-programmed for everyone based on karma of past lives. Yes, good and bad we face in this life are based on consequence of our actions/reactions/thoughts of past lives. Free will is limited to creating new karma which goes to our future lives in the form of regrets, unfulfilled desires, new likes/dislikes we have in the current life. Remember, Karma pre-programs not just situations, circumstances and opportunities but also a person's mindset or guna. Yes, if a man is at fault for something - it means he has violated dharma and created karma or created a cause. The effect of that cause could also be pre-programmed to face in this life. eg A drunkard dying from liver cirrhosis. We are also pre-programmed to create karma which goes to our future lives, if we violate dharma or the natural law. Whatever we face from others is our karma and whatever others face from us is their karma. Karma is a double edged sword and nobody can take a moral high ground or play victim. Since guna or mindset is also pre-programmed, a person is pre-programmed to create good karma (if he or she reacts positively to his or her karma) or create bad karma (if we react negatively) or no karma (if we display a dharmic reaction). Karma vs Fate Western/christian understanding of fate is it is NOT our own making. But karma is our own making. It is the reason why we should not use the word fate. Do you know why karma is the referee? It is because it is the same shiva (athma) doing different human roles using shakthi or intelligent energy.. it is all one big divine play. A divine play to understand why we (shiva/athma) should not violate dharma since it can create karma and more reincarnations. It is like teaching ourselves not to touch the fire because it can burn our skin. All this karma, reincarnation, dharma are based on hindu/vedic metaphysics.

@@Dharmicaction actually astrology completely changes the rules of this world. When you understand life is predestined then your understanding of life changes!! But I do think every single thing is pre programmed. Like even the drinking habit is written in person's script. His demise will also be. We(our soul) is here to experience life in this dress(our body and social identity). Life is painful,so probably we are all sent here as punishment for some mistake and to learn. What's beyond this no one knows. Prayers and positive thinking can have good effects on life, atleast psychologically.
