Driving Hollywood Heights and Outpost Estates in the Hollywood Hills.

Hollywood Heights is a neighborhood in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles, bounded by the Hollywood Bowl on the north, Highland Avenue on the east, Outpost Estates on the west, and Franklin Avenue on the south. It includes a number of notable historic homes and buildings and has been home to numerous people in the film and music industries, dating back to the silent film era.
Outpost Estates is a neighborhood in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles, California, consisting of about 450 homes. It is bordered by Mulholland Drive to the north, Franklin Avenue to the south, Runyon Canyon Park to the west, and Hollywood Heights and the Hollywood Bowl to the east.

At 1962 Glencoe Way ( 4:12 and 6:20) is Frank Lloyd Wright's Samuel Freeman House, one of three textile block houses built in the Hollywood Hills in the 1920's. Harriet Freeman lived in the house until 1986, when she donated it to the University of Southern California. The Freeman House suffered earthquake damage and is not currently available for tours.

42:49 - This house will be familiar if you’ve seen David Lynch’s “Lost Highway”. Also, if you were to climb down the hill from where the car wreck occurs in David Lynch’s “Mulholland Drive”- as Laura Harrings’ character does- you’d stumble out somewhere around here. Hmmm…

Another beautiful winter’s day in the hills of Los Angeles. I can’t thank you enough. What I’ve noticed further into this video is how unkept much of the foliage is, and some of the streets are terrible. I hate to see these things happening in what is such a lovely place.

*ALL* of the streets are terrible, both in the hills and the flats. I really think the Hollywood Hills are beautiful in most circumstances, but the pavement these days is just an eyesore.

I'm sure that many of these houses are quite nice inside, and no doubt they're surrounded by marvelous gardens. But the streets are so cramped! I can't imagine navigating through these neighborhoods.

All true. Most of these Outpost Estates streets were laid out in the mid 1920's. Being 100 years old, I'm sure its planners never foresaw the number and usage of such heavy vehicles that are driven today. Often, it was common to have only one vechicle per household.

Anxiety looking at the narrow streets and the parallel parking! My husband laughs at me all the time about my inability to parallel park-seriously, I’ll just go home if there’s no other option!😂😂😂😂😂😂

Aaay!! I will never get enough of your vids. I like that first street. Looks so peaceful with all that foliage Jeez, that guy at 3:30 should not be on the road I bet the view at 5:49 is incredible at night Aah, the curves from 8:00 to 11:00 are beautiful

One gets the impression that the people who live here lead quiet, secure lives with no noisy neighbours who have loud parties, and boisterous pool parties with the possible exception of the speed demon at the beginning of the video.

Yes I'd agree with that assumption. I think the problem arises when Young kids rent out a home from Airbnb or Squatters move in and cause problems. I see situations like this pop-up on the news sometimes. Saw a squatter issue come on the news today in Beverly Hills throwing loud parties.

Interesting drive. I truly don't understand the narrow streets. How is a firetruck supposed to make It past those cars and other things in the road when even you had to pull over to let another car pass. Not a place I would like to live. Interesting drive nonetheless. Thank you. GOD bless

Yah the streets are very narrow. I wonder how long it would take for me to start getting annoyed with trying to let ppl pass to move forward! It's very close to the Hollywood Bowl and Highland Blvd so I can't imagine what the traffic is like during rush hour.

Людей, которые решили жить на Голливудских холмах, привлекает их заросшая, сельская и богемная атмосфера. Они хотят избежать суеты города внизу. Я уверен, что старые деревянные заборы в какой-нибудь русской деревне были бы как дома на Голливудских холмах. Теперь, если в Сибири есть виды на самолеты, вы можете начать видеть актеров и других голливудских людей, переезжающих туда.

The streets are so awful, it's not worth living there! And the worst part is those homes are in excess of 1,000,000 dollars to buy. Terrible. The streets give the feeling that any moment something bad will happen and there's nowhere to walk, either.
