CityNews obtained video of the violent attack that began as a verbal dispute that escalated where one person was chased and stabbed. Concerned onlookers rush away from the scene upon the train's arrival at Eglinton Station.

Recording is important for documenting what is happening. Running away? Of course they would run away from a knife. They're not action movie stars. Even martial artists know that wrestling against a knife is a bad idea. It's arguable that even a handgun is less dangerous in that kind of situation. Though I do agree they should press the emergency button.

I was on the TTC making my way home tonight when the train got cancelled midtown before Eglinton Station. Due to this incident, the subway is a few steps away from The Purge movies it feels sometimes. Hope this guy gets caught. Keep vigilant people when you are riding the train, don't stare at your phones so much.

This is just another day in toronto, it's sad to see, but wait another week and they'll be another violent incident on the TTC, which is why I use the TTC maybe once a year and that's if money is short and I don't want to get an uber. Hopefully, someone can fix this broken city, but I don't see that happening within the next 5-6 decades.

Toronto is not the kind of city that can survive without public transit. I remember we had a TTC strike over 30 years ago. All the Toronto roads were bumper to bumper. The sidewalks were packed full of people. What does that tell you? That tells me that Toronto cannot survive without public transit.

I hate this City it’s not the city I grew up in I was there today just got off the bus at eglinton station today around close to 1225: pm Was walking in to the station and saw the TTC POLICE officers s rushing us out of the subway I’m like what happened ? People looks so scared and they wouldn’t tell us they said just leave the area very quickly. It’s pretty scary and they were literally pretty much like no shuttle buses running at all and it was one of the hottest days of the year I actually saw, the guy guy on the stretcher being wheeled into ambulance so many people outside waiting in the hot sun looking around trying to figure out what just happened I talked to 2 guys and asked them what happened they told me someone got stabbed 😞I had to take a subway later on tonight from work I didn’t want to. It was literally like a ghost town. Hardly anyone on the subway. People looked scared this is like a mental health issue. This is a poverty, issue This is a drug issue.
