David Ben-Gurion cast an enormous shadow across his world, and his legacy in the Middle East and beyond continues to be hotly debated to this day. There have been many books written about the life and accomplishments of the Zionist icon and founder of modern Israel, but this new biography by eminent Israeli historian Anita Shapira is the first to get to the core of the complex man who would become the face of a new nation.
She’s joined by The New Yorker’s David Remnick and Steven Zipperstein, a professor of Jewish culture and history at Stanford, to discuss Ben-Gurion’s remarkable impact on the world.

David Remnick here seems like a spokesman for the PLO.Not that these questions aren't relevant but they should not be the only questions asked,in a a way that is almost antagonistic.People who watch this would want him to be informed enough to ask broader set of questions even if they are critical

this is a great example of outsiders being out of touch with the realities of day to day realities, language, customs of Jewish life during the mandate. i.e. Anita Shapira is the real deal, the other two not having a clue...

Why is it you're always attacking the Jews? but you're always studying about them. Jews have been a blessing to the world even Che Guevara was Jewish!

@@Hever73 The great Humanist Jewish tradition. It has been a blessing for many, but not for the true Kin, the Palestinians. It's Cain and Abel, depraved arrogance, avarice and folly. To forget the crimes of European Jewish conqueror-colonist settlers dooms ALL honorable people. Look into the mirror, we have failed to recognize the true meaning of never forget, "Never Again".
