I took my husband and son to Montana last summer. We did a loop from Livingston to Lamar Valley in Yellowstone to Cooke City through the Beartooth Hwy back to Livingston in one day. As a child, my family often drove through Cooke City on our way to Canada to see family. That little town seriously ignited my love of the forest. I told my parents I would live there one day. Gorgeous. I loved seeing it again. 😍

Most YT creators no doubt are in constant anxiety about keeping up their content quality, production and presentation, IMHO. That said, Catherine seems able always to effortlessly meet or exceed the quality of her past episodes. I think that's extraordinary, and today's episode is proof, again, IMHO. This channel is tops in this genre, no offense to many other fine creators whose channels I'm also a subscriber to.

As a Native American I'd like to shed a little more 'truth' on the actual treaty 'agreements' between the US government and tribes in Montana. The government saw land that was filled with natural resources (gold, copper, ore, coal, zinc, whatever) and seized the opportunity by force (bloodshed, wars) and forced the tribal folks to either give up the land and agree to a treaty OR lose more lives. That was repeated not just in Montana, but all across our country, how do you think the Trail of Tears came about?? I love Red Lodge, been there on multiple occasions. Although I love Montana, I have to say it's been my personal experience as one of the most racist states I've been to! It was worse than my home state of Arizona! But Montana (at least the western part) is a beautiful area. I never get tired of traveling though there IN THE SUMMETIME, of course. I can't do the northern parts of our country in the winter anymore 😊 Must be the old age creeping in. Thanks for sharing!

My husband and I backpacked a trail on the pass for two nights last year and we’re going back next weekend for another trail. I highly recommend backpacking the trails the pass has to offer. You’re already up so high, you don’t gain much elevation while hiking. You get the amazing views without a ton of exertion. We also saw our first grizzly there. ❤

The grizzlies up there stay out of view pretty well, did find one in the woods in the Top of the World area. In 1988 my wife (Pat) and I, she was on a Gold Wind pulling a cycle camp trail and I was on a Venture, and we wanted to go into Yellowstone and then exit via the beartooth. Well Yellowstone was closed due to fires so we went around Yellowstone staying in Red Lodge. Pat passed 2008 but in 2018 on my motorcycle (BMW R1200RT) I stayed at Top of the World and dove the beartooth in the morning almost 30 years to the day Pat and I would have! Such a grand bitter sweet memory and ride.

A bear story a coworker of mine told me that was hilarious. She loved to go camping in her nice big trailer. One night, she left her tomatoes out on the picnic table. That night, a bear had eaten them all and climbed onto her doorsteps and left a pile of scat for her to clean up. 😂 🐻 I laughed so hard.

I just moved from Red Lodge MT on March 1st, 2024, where I lived for 14 months. While living there, I drove the Beartooth Hwy 5 times to see it in all the seasons from June to October. I love it and loved living there too. But after 2.5 years total altogether in Montana, although I love the snow and enjoy snow skiing, the winters lasted 7 months. Had it been shorter winters, I would not have moved. I'm glad you finally got to see it.

Thank you for taking us on another gorgeous journey with magnificent scenery with you, this time in Montana. I loved riding shotgun, viewing the spectacular views of pine-covered mountains, meadows, water, wildlife and other natural scenery. Your calm voice, the music you choose, the song of the streams and rivers, and the views of being surrounded by nature...mountains, meadows, pines, and deer have an especially calming effect on me, especially today after watching the news of the attempted assassination of D. Trump. Your videos help bring the calm and sanity that we really need, and with what's truly important in life; beautiful nature, and kind people. Thank you for the gift of all that you do, all that you share, and how you share it with such peace and grace.Thank you!

Chief Joseph's Hwy (Beartooth Pass) is truly amazing, and most memorable for me...!! Have driven this rod two times. Long way from east Tennessee.
